Our team gets no respect from the media, I've become accustomed to that, but it still pisses me off. I especially despise the fact they say Steve's chances of making the allstar team are a LONG SHOT!If anybody thinks Baron and Andre are better than Steve you are crazy. Dont get me wrong, I like them as players, but Steve at this point is on a higher level than them.Steve's having a better season than Kidd, check the stats, and I dont care if you think Kidd brings that extra "something" to help his team win. Phoenix is talented, VERY TALENTED, and would still be a good team without Kidd. Without Steve, the rockets are a bad team.The 5 guards who will make the game are Kobe, Payton, Kidd, Finley, and FRANCIS. If Stockton gets in the game I'll shoot myself, because its a crime if he makes it over Steve. I dont care about what a player HAS DONE. Just picked up another quote from the doctor who said responded to the question will the rockets make the playoffs....."I dont think so.... they're doing OK at .500; but that wont get them a spot in the west." I swear, the people that criticize the rockets the most are the people who hardly ever seen them play. Hundred bucks says the "doctor" hasnt seen more than one rocks game this year. ------------------
True, the article does sort of focus on Miller and Davis, but I think that's because these are the two who are going to get more consideration for the All-Star game--not because Steve's below their level, but because he has more competition in the West with Kidd and Payton and Stockton. If you think John Stockton is having a typical Stockton year you are crazy. The fact that the Jazz have struggled recently proves that Stockton cant take over games when Karl is hurt or not playing like he used to be able to. John Stockton is not doing more for his team, and does not have better numbers than Francis. If you asked GM's around the league who they would rather have right now to help them say win a championship this season, steve francis or John Stockton, I believe youd see ALOT more GM's saying Steve Francis. Steve doesnt need any media support to make the game. His numbers should speak for themselves. ------------------
Screw the media. The Rockets aren't the only ones who don't get love from the media, Houston in general gets a bad rap for no apparent reason. That's OK because that's just the kind of fuel we need to use to overcome adversity! ------------------
