I think all the bright lights and attention he's receiving in L.A. is bad for his mental health. He never said anything that crazy when he was in Houston.
3 more games against them. Something bad looks like it will happen. Then again it could be squashed after this.
This is who I have my money on if it comes down to fisticuffs. No one else on this squad would tangle with Artest. Actually, I think Pops would (and would do quite well) but he won't get the playing time.
If people threw elbows at you, what would you do? This is the mentality that we needed last year. Which we got. Artest brought toughness to a team that was soft. If Yao gets beat up on, you want him to not speak out. Is that it?
I understand him. That Ariza's 3 was probably the worst thing that could have happend for him yesterday.
Artest is firing off the bullets in his six-shooter way too early in the season. His calling attention to Kobe's elbows in last year's playoffs was beneficial only because people were not used to hearing Ron Artest complain of physical play. For Ron to say someone is being cheap or dirty was a surprise and it caught the league attention. The problem is that now he is making a habit of whining to the media about how the game is played against him. If he is going to start making comments like this in game 5 of the NBA season by the time the playoffs role around no one will listen to him. Someone needs to tell him about the boy who cried wolf. Or maybe they shouldn't since I prefer anything and all bad things possible happen to the Lakers.
While watching that game I kept thinking, "what can the rockets do to encourage ron to shoot the ball more?"
