There are two things I want to point out here.

1.) He needs to post up because he can create mismatches against most opponents. I don't why they emphasize more post up sets for Tmac wherein he is more effective in a pick and roll. Tmac can always position in the three point area and do occassional post up. But they should balance their posting up between him and Artest. If Artest post up, they create more space. If Artest only stays in the three point area, would we fully maximize his potential?I remember when Pippen first joined the Rockets. He said the Rockets won't win if he stays on the 3 point area and just feed Barkley and Hakeem. He likes the triangle offense because he is constantly moving and post up on occassion. I brought up this point because... 2.) there is a possibility that he won't be HAPPY because he does not get the touches similar to what happened to Pippen. Artest said he will accept any role but my concern is will he be unHAPPY if he continue to shoot forced shoots because there is really no plays made for him.We don't want Artest to leave right? I firmly believe if we post up Artest, we will see the real warrior Ronron!

Talk about your 2nd point,we know Artest need to dribble before he shoot, while with Tmac on the court,Tmac dribbling a lot, when Tmac passed the ball to Ron, always Ron not have much time to adjust, maybe this is the reason why Ron's shooting percentage is lower than last season inSacramento, this season his shoot percentage is about 33%.So when Shane back,I prefer Ron come off the bench, and Shane start, thus in the 2nd qt leave Ron and other 4 role players on the court,he can dribble more

I think Artest is more of an inside player. When he was in Sacramento, I don't see him dribble that much like Lebron or Wade. He is more of a post up guard like Bonzi or Steve Smith. He does not have that quick of a step but what he has is brute force that is difficult to defend for guards even Kobe had a hard time guarding him.

You must either be an idiot or you didn't watch the game much. Tmac offers the best postups among any player on this team, including Yao. The fact that he can do some much things while posting up-- faceup, onedribble pull up, driving, makes him very lethal against most shooting guards. The 15-18ft area is Tmac's most lethal area. Oftentimes Ron can out muscle the guy, he's poting up, but that doesn;t mean he'll make the shot. wake up!

Actually, Tmac's postup gets taken away by bigger defenders. Tonight, he was posting up Raja Bell all night. He wasn't able to do the same in the Lakers or Boston games, when he was guarded by Ariza or Pierce.

I agree that Tmac needs to post up as well but Artest also needs to post up too. Tmac can score in many different ways but Artest should be given opportunities as well and I think posting up is Artest best weapon. In short, they should share the posting up duties. We can't always see Artest forcing up shots he is not comfortable with.

Exactly. I also started a similar thread about T-Mac needing to post up high and look what happened last night. Let's get Ron on the low block to brutalize whoever is guarding him.

From what I have seen so far in his post up game he seems to favor moving across the lane to backing his defender in and making a move. I would like to see more of this king of posting up but the crossing the lane move is getting predictable.

This is why Artest should come off the bench. While I didn't get to watch the game at all, was it true that the Suns had Raja Bell on him? That has post up written all over it!

Problem is as the starter, he won't be able to post up since Yao is already clogging up the paint. The only way we can get that to work out is if we let Yao run a high post offense, but that completely takes away from Yao's entire offensive game and rebounding.

We definitely have an ability to take advantage of mismatches, but injuries aren't allowing us to do so.

Ya I say when he's on the floor with TMac, let's McGrady post up, and kick out to Ron. When Ron is in with the 2nd squad, let him post up.

I think it should not be an excuse that if Yao is there Ron can't post up.Adelman should find a way to interchange them in posting up even when they are together. It is unevitable to not play them together in crunch time.
