I'm ecstatic to have Artest on board for virtually nothing. Donte Greene was a long term project. Artest will help us now and he's back with the one coach I have faith in keeping him in check. I'm confident enough in Morey to find us a replacement for Greene in future drafts.

Now I think we are fine where we are and wouldn't trade Battier. He brings so much to the table it would be hard to replace his intangibles, especially if Artest is a rental. Non-stop lock down defense too with Artest and Battier taking turns on the opposing teams best player.

Alston isn't great but we don't need him to be now. We don't need him to try and be our 3rd scorer. He gets us into our offense very effectively and with our BIG 3 that's all he really needs to do. Do you guys think if we have an oppurtunity to upgrade the pg spot, is it worth giving up Battier? I say stand pat. We made our splash and lets have fun abusing opposing teams next year.

I don't really have a problem with Rafer if we have 3 other legitimate scoring option. He doesn't score efficiently, and that can be maddening when the Rockets are desperate for points and he has to become something he's not. But he's more than adequate otherwise.

I'd keep Battier. Amazing 6th man.

Unless you get a sure thing at point guard (which probably won't happen), you keep Battier as your 6th man. Battier was decent-to-good as our starter, but coming off the bench? That's a great great 6th man to have right there.

I think we can keep RA now. We have 3 superstars and Rafer does not need to score anymore. He can just concentrate on running the team.

Keep him. We're more than ready to contend.

Getting AI would be too much of a good thing, in my opinion. Too many people that would demand the ball-- plus we'd thin our bench. Right now, we're in an OUTSTANDING spot to go for the ring. Minor adjustments only from here on out.

Keep Battier, this would be an impressive defensive lineup.

    PG: Alston
    SG: Tmac
    SF: Battier
    PF: Artest
    C: Yao

You could move Artest to shooting guard and have Scola at power forward and give Tmac some rest without losing anything in terms of offense with Artest taking over the load.

Gotta find another way outside of Battier to sure up the PG. We need a 3 wing rotation, we finally have it. Lets not dump it. Maybe Francis comes on strong. Atkins I would think is available. Barry can play PG. Gotta wait til pre-trade deadline for sexy deals to come available.

I'm salivating here at my desk thinking about the defensive juggernaught we could be with Artest and Battier. Nightmare for the Kobe's of the world!

    Keep Shane!

KEEP Battier, Brent Barry was brought in as a backup point forward, his sense of passing is better than alot PGs out there.

Unless we get a good PG, that fits very well in Adelman's offense, I wouldn't trade Battier for now. I just want to see an Artest/Battier defense shut down every team in the NBA.

Keeping Battier is essential. Ronnie can blow up any time, and he's only on a 1 year deal. When you have a risky situation, you keep the insurance policy.

Besides, having 2 good defensive wings available instead of one makes your team that much tougher to score on.

Definitely, definitely keep Battier. Rafer if fine as long as he doesn't have to be our 3rd scoring option. Battier does bunches of things on this team.

Short of getting an elite point guard like Chris Paul (which would be a no brainer) or someone that's up and coming like Devin Harris I wouldn't trade Battier.

I think we should trade BAttier for a PF with Size!!! Screw Alston, he's okay as a PG. We don't need a great PG anyway.

Everybody knows, AI is the answer.

    PG: AI
    SG: T-Mac
    SF: Artest
    PF: Scola
    C: Yao

Bench: Barry Brooks Francis Landry(?) Dorsey

If Shane can get us a big upgrade at PG, we should do it.

even tho i think artest will be a normal person this season, i dunno if he can do that for the rest of his career, shane can tho :) . even w/ bobby gone (i loved him) we still have too many pgs.

im thinkin that steve if finally gonne be able to play nba basketball and will be our backup pg next season. and if thats true, that also means that we have a backup pg who can set up an offense, legit scoring threat, and defense. yall prolly think he cant play d BUT when youre on a contender that already has an elite defensive system, you start to do things that u didnt wanna do when you played on bad teams. he doesnt need to be fundamentall sound on defense, all he has to do is rotate and move his feet, and he can do that. he wont lock down anyone but he wont let them score easy buckets.

    hope thats how it is
