Anyone been to this before? It is this weekend and I was thinking of checking it out to do something different with my Saturday. Basically I was wondering what kind of vibe was out there. Is it a bunch of hippies? Are there things to do after the parade?

havent been to one before in houston but went to one in tucson.

its a little bit of everything. some hippies, some normal people, 'artsy' people, families, etc.

i would guess it would be a good crowd overall.

It's great. I have friends that usually make some cars. I would go more but graduations, birthdays, mother days always seem to get in the way. :(

    Go. And bring a camera.

I try to go every year. I will be there Saturday.

    A few tips....

    1. Bring a camera
    2. Bring water to drink
    3. Wear your walking shoes

What I like to do is get out there a couple of hours before the parade starts. All of the cars are lined up along Allen Parkway, and you can walk and take closer looks at them.

Afterwards, all of the bars & icehouses in the area are usually pretty hoppin'.

Now I have a request....who knows of a good place to park close to Taft & Allen Parkway?
