On Around the Horn, Woody Paige just suggested that the Sixers trade Allen Iverson to the Rockets so he could play WITH Yao and McGrady! This trade would never happen...who would we possibly trade him for (other than Yao and TMac)??!

Marriotti also agreed how stupid a suggestion this was, claiming with AI and TMac, Yao would never touch the ball...

Actually, with AI, neither Tmac or Yao would touch the ball. Yes, he is that big of a ballhog.

Well that's kind of like saying Kobe is being a ballhog with the current Lakers squad. Who else is going to score the points on such a crummy team?

That's pretty stupid. How would we trade for AI without giving up Yao or T-mac. Our number 1, Stro and Head just isn't going to get it done, and that's probably our best offer.

In terms of whether it would work or not having Tracy, AI, and Yao. I bet it could. As long as we run the ball mainly through Yao, Iverson would have a field day taking the pass out of the post and penetrating from the weakside.

Actually AI has a decent supporting cast this year. Kobe too, at least compare to Rockets. Yet, Rockets role players still get more shots.

Plus I think either they'd hafta take on Howard to make the salaries equate (never gonna happen) or we'd hafta take on Webber too (never gonna happen). So laughable

Well what if this senario came to be.....
Rockets win the pinball competition with Boston and Minny and get the 6th place in the Draft Rankings. Fortune again falls on the Rockets and they get second pick in the draft!!!! [ I know it's a long shot]
Would we then have enough to get Iverson? After the Rox got Iverson would they have to rewrite his contact, so as to be able to pay him? Just thinking about it, I dont know if it would be good for the teram!

The real question in my mind right now, is why you started this thread.

Yeah, bc all the other threads and waiting for the draft is soooooo much more exciting. Good thread.

I could see us getting Iverson. If not now, then in a year or two when his value starts to drop along with his production. Philly aint goin anywhere with that group but they have enough good young players to make something for the future if they deal Iverson. Our 1st rounder has enough value IMO along with Head and Swift to make it doable. The real question is when will Iverson want out. You don't get equal value for superstars in the NBA. 3 young starters with good potential would be about the going rate.

Just be thankful this wasn't brought up on Cold Pizza. Then you would have deal with the lunacy from not only Woody Paige but also Skip Bayless.

Woody: Allen Iverson should get traded to the Rockets. He could play with YAOOOOO and Tracy McGrady. The Rockets need a player like him.

Bayless: Woody, i'm not so sure Yao Ming is an NBA player. I think he's a shaky NBA player making way too much money.

Woody: No, no, no. The real missing link here is Bahhb Sura. He was the ex-factor there last year and they were lacking his solid backcourt play during this season.

Bayless: Who is Bob Sura? All I know is Tracy McGrady will never be healthy again. I think that he retires and uses the remaining money on his contract to purchase a yacht.
