I get the feeling that Battier will continue to be shopped around. This time for a center or for a perimeter scorer. I'd love to see a move for Brad Miller.
This is exactly what I was thinking once the signing happened along with Battier involved in trade talks previously.
i'd only ship battier if we get a proven perimeter scorer. rudy fernandez at least. as of right now i don't know if we can find a legit scorer. ariza at the 2 will have to do for now.
I agree that gaining Ariza means moving Battier, but for Brad Miller? That makes very little sense for a team that is most likely committing to rebuild mode. EDIT: Just realized Miller expires after next season...makes it more attractive to us, but also less likely from a Bulls perspective.
It's a message board where discussions are made. Sorry that I tend to use my brain without the need of Internet links.
Maybe they two could fit in with the system exactly the same Ron did. Ariza is more dynamic and athletic than Ron is and also he's good defender, with the assistance Shane could give,he'd be much better defensively as time goes by.Also, this defensive duo could also help alot on the offensive end, their stable 3 point shooting could lift Rockets. For me I would like to consider how to distribute the PT to both of 'em instead of moving Battier. With the loss of Ron Ron,we cannot afford to lose out on another defensive master.
That really wasn't my intent. I was thinking out loud. I guess that's a horrible thing to do in a Rockets message board. I will only pump sunshine. Battier + cap filler will be traded for LeBron. Is that better?
My thoughts in another thread: Too bad the Grizz prolly don't want anything from us, cause I was hoping maybe Rudy Gay, Marc Gasol, and Marco Jaric for Battier, Barry, and Cook plus a 1st round pick. Grizz gets out of paying Gay big bucks once his rookie contract is up, Battier's contract expires in a couple of years (I think) and Barry and Cook's expire this year. We have to take Jaric's contract to make it a more even sided deal. Grizz can turn around and deal Battier to a contender for more expiring contracts if they choose. ...yeah I know the irony in this trade lol...
I like Ariza, not so much for Artest, but I'd rather to have Artest because Ariza is a role player like Battier who can't be your goto guy. Both Ariza and Battier are best suited to play the 3. This signing doesn't make too much sense.
I doubt that. They took a KG-less Celtics team to 7 games...but still lost...in the first round. Then they lost their top scorer to free agency. Luol Deng is coming off of injury, and while he happens to be their best player and scorer behind Rose, he also plays Battier's position. It doesn't make that much sense. It's much smarter for them to continue building their young talent and use Miller's expiring to try and bring in a significant piece in 2010.
I'm not talking about the OP here, but quite a few fans are still hoping for a miraculous Yao comeback. Assuming that Battier may or should be moved, who do you suggest should be a target? I for one, don't think we can much in return from him despite his smarts and professionalism.
All we need is an offensive minded player under the post. I can't think of anyone better than Amare. Amare Scola Ariza T-Mac? (lol) Brooks
The KG-less Celtics who took the Magic to 7? Fact is the Bulls have been fairly stuck in neutral for a while. If they can't get a legit star, they could use a veteran leader.
