So for all those people bashing Morey for not acting soon enough here is the splash but I know its not over so whats the next move? I say finding a way to pick up Rudy Fernandez and trading TMAC's contract but for what???

....it isn't going to happen. We are actually a good team.

Ariza is definitely a start. I like it. Need more though. Like we need a player over 6'8'' on our team. Haha

Battier must go, in my opinion.

He's clearly a better overall defender than Ariza, but Ariza is the better offensive player and at the same position they are too redundant on a roster that has so many holes to fill.

I like taking Ariza over Artest also, nice move by Morey who seems to be intent on forming a quick, athletic team who will rely on balanced scoring and unselfish play + great defense....this is far from his only move though, cause Morey will start moving the other pieces of his plan as well-next one being TMAC for a legit big man or scorer.

We just spent ALL our money on Ariza.

    Are you proposing a trade?

    Step 1: Sign Ariza

Step 2: Trade Batter for Rudy Fernandez (If either Budinger or Taylor pans out then we have our swing positions set for the next 6 years)

Step 3: Trade Brooks + 2010 1st round pick (unprotected unless it's #1 overall) + filler for Ricky Rubio.

Okay maybe Step 3 isn't going to happen but a guy can dream.

I like Ariza. I actually think he's a better long term fit for us over Artest. He's younger & more athletic. Can he start at the 2?

am so sick right now. I was loving last year around this time when all the other team's fans were saying "NO NO NO!!!!" This is'nt fair, Rockets are gonna be a terror. Now its "AH HA HA, What a bunch of dildos" All this while the rich are getting richer. Rockets are making me sick for being a team full of bleeders and quitters. Man I really hope the Texans are for real this year.

I see Dream sitting back at a fancy resturant like Carlito in Carlitos way, all while Yao and McGrady try to send him him a botle of Bubbly and dream says "send it back" The waiter says "wait dream do do this, these guys are you 20 years ago" Dream says "NEVER ME, THESE PUNKS WERE NEVER ME!!!!!!"

Tank and get into the lottery :p If Gortat sign with us it'll be great because we're young, talented and most importantly will have lot of cap space to pursue Wade in 2010 when Yao comes back healthy. BTW Ariza is more complete of player than Artest for way cheaper.

Love it but if you can get Outlaw and Fernandez along with a big man for TMAc's contract I'd be happy as I can be considering the way this offseason started!

A trade involving McGrady is the final piece.

    Yes.

He can defend better than Battier. So now we are supreme in the defensive wing department.

    We NEED some offense though...

So no one thinks Ariza and Battier can both start at the 2 and 3 positions? I admit both are players built to feed off of franchise players, but who else are we going to start?

...thinking about it more, maybe moving Battier for a scorer that can create their own offense is a good choice....

Gortat would have to take the minimum to come here now.

That, combined with the fact he said he'd sign with Dallas, makes it rather unlikely that we'll be seeing him in a Rockets uniform anytime soon.
