Kobe 39 points 6 assist 6 rebounds 14-26 fg 9-10 ft Arenas 36 points 4 assit 5 rebounds 9-29 fg 16-17 ft Lakers 118 Wizards 102 i really really dislike arenas and his attitude. I liked him before until he became such an attention w****... sorry, but the guy thinks he is the greatest and announces to public. "oh i'm going to score 50 points on the suns just because i'm bitter" I bet the Hibachi thing is just so he can get attention from the media as well.. i'm glad Kobe won.
anyone seen the gilbert v deshawn shooting comp at wizzrds training, funny stuff http://blog.washingtonpost.com/dcsportsbog/
I still think Gilbert's one of the most likeable personalities in the NBA. He's just stuck in a bad team with a backwards system. Couple that with the injury to Antawn Jamison. I'm impressed that Gil's still been able to keep that cheery, bordering on mad, attitude. Hope everything goes well for him after the All-Star break.
I watched the 1st half until the Rockets came on. Very entertaining. Gilbert did a crossover that "broke" Kobe's ankles. It was very funny. Kobe did a 360 slam dunk. Didn't see the 2nd half but the box score says it all. Gilbert and Kobe split the season series.
Gilbert is a class act. The last time Gil lit up the Lakers, Kobe was downplaying Gil's 60 points.. Areans could have retalitated with harsh words but he refuse to stoop to Kobe's level. How can you dislike Areanas for his attitude when theres somebody named Kobe who is a arrogant cocky prick?
Not much of an accomplishment beating the Wizards...Didn't the Lakers lose to Portland and NOK in one week?
How is he one of the most likeable personalities? He's ridiculously cocky, all he does is talk shat about "teams that passed him" and "coaches that cut him" etc etc, he shoots a TON as a PG (which is fine if you can manage to still make your teammates better, but he doesn't do that all that much, though he'll throw in some nice passes here and there). Stuck on a bad team with a backwards system? He is PERFECT for that system. He made the team work in that system. The injury to Jamison just happened like 3 days ago. Can't quite use it as an excuse for anything yet. Watching the guy most games of the season, I will say that I defintiely don't think he makes his teammates better as much as Kobe, TMac, Wade, Nash, and even Lebron do. To me, he's a Michael Redd with a worse shot (since Redd is very high %age from the outside) but longer range and a little better ability to create off the dribble. Which is solid, but not at the very top of the NBA. But all his smack talking would make you think he's at the top.
Gilbert makes himself available to the public more than a lot of NBA stars. From that people have seen that he has emotions, worries, and interests as a regular "normal" guy (with millions in the bank). His cocky demeanor and comments serve as motivation and preparation. "I'ma score 50 points" from him means he's just gonna try extra hard like how a 12 year old would say it, more than it means "I'm the best ever". I don't know how it got to be but Arenas is viewed as the exception where if Kobe said it he'd get persecuted and ridiculed to no end.
29 shot attempts? If you aren't shooting at least 50% you need to give the ball up to your team mates. Especially when one of them is Caron Butler. Arenas just isn't a winner. I like him and all but his game isn't nice enough to carry a team to anything significant but he doesn't have the mentality to ever play second fiddle to a real franchise player. He's like a better version of Steve Francis on the court.
the only thing i dun like about arenas is that he holds onto grudges too long and he flaunts it in public all the time other than that, arenas is much more likeable than kobe
How the hell did you know that Areanas never raped anyone? It's not like he will tell you if he did. Kobe made a mistake, let it go.
