http://www.foxsports.com/content/view?contentId=2168620 Brown, Arenas rip each other in loss "To me, it just seems like guys are going out just to get numbers," said Brown, who scored six points on 2-for-4 shooting. "They're not passing. If you look at the little bit of wins that we do have, we have 20-plus assists. Games that we're getting killed on, we have one guy with OK numbers, but he's just shooting. We don't pass the ball. We don't play like a team. We've just guys just whining and complaining about offense, and that's not basketball. It makes me sick." Brown didn't name names, but point guard Arenas felt the arrows in his back and responded with his own not-so-subtle critique of Brown. "Everybody's getting the same amount of touches: If you ain't converting, you ain't converting," said Arenas, who scored 21 points on 7-for-21 shooting with six assists and six turnovers. "Last time I checked, I pass him the ball, like, six, seven times, he passes to somebody else, right under the basket. "I don't know where he's coming from with that. I guess he didn't have 20 (points) tonight. I don't know."
I side with Kwame on this issue. Kwame looks like he could be a Jermaine Oneal. Coincidentally, Arenas is a combo guard like Steve Francis.
Arenas is overated...I actually agree with Kwame, although this is similar to what Yao goes through... GIVE YAO THE DAMN BALL...
No, it was actually Francis straight up for Arenas. Wonderful trade, IMO. Charvo: can you start one thread without mentioning Steve Francis? This is the NBA dish for god's sake. Did he pee on your rug or something?
Forget the Clippers. The Wizards are by far the most moribund franchise in the NBA. They don't just get beat, they get routed—consistently. You just know that Kwame will never realize his full potential in DC. His whole development process has been stunted, first by His Airness, now by Arenas. Three different coaches. And a sad sack of a team. I still wouldn't give up Francis for Kwame and Arenas though.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. I mentioned a trade involving Steve that might net Arenas and Kwame, thinking that the Wiz would love to have him. That wasn't too bad. If someone suggested Steve for Arenas straight up, no. Kwame and Gilbert, going at it. "Pass the ball!" "I would, if you could shoot straight!" "Shoot straight?! Uh, hey, Mr 7 for 21, who are you talking to?"
Areanas is shooting 37% on 16 shots per game this year. Who is he to talk about "converting". Meanwhile the mighty Kwame gets 7.5 shots a game. This is worst than how Francis and Mobley treated Yao last year.
Of course, Kwame can't shoot the ball any better than Arenas. Yao has actually MADE a shot outside of seven feet before...
