i got an interesting phone call last night from a representative of some consulting outfit that was doing a survey regarding the rockets arena deal. they asked a bunch of questions about like "professional teams like the rockets and comets give Houston an image that helps attract businesses and travelers to the city. do you strongly agree, somewhat agree, somewhat disagree, or strongly disagree?" There were a bunch of other questions about the new deal versus the old deal, how certain people's opinions (paul bettencourt, les, lee brown, ken lay, chuck watson (not specifically, in his case, but "opponents to the previous deal)) about the deal would affect my vote, etc. Pretty interesting. i'm assuming the survey was being conducted for the rockets / sports authority. did anyone else field a call like this? ------------------

I took one of those surveys around the time of the Super Bowl. Someone from the New York Times called Champp's Americana(the restaurant I was working at) and asked if the waiters could participate in their survey. They asked things about our football arena deal, what we thought about the proposed team name(Texans - SUCKS!), names we thought were good. They also asked how we felt about the Oilers leaving for Tennesse and making it to the Super Bowl. I never saw the results of the poll. ------------------ "I've been licking this carpet for hours and I still don't feel like a lesbian!"
