http://digg.com/odd_stuff/Are_you_Racist_This_test_made_by_Harvard_will_tell_you Harvard made a test that will supposedly tell you if you are racist. Here's the link to it https://implicit.harvard.edu/implicit/demo/selectatest.html Select the "Race IAT" Test. My Results- i forgot what it said word by word, but basically it says I'm a racist lol I don't get it since all i did was look at pictures and words. Your results?
IIRC, all my "mistakes" were on words not faces and came when there would be a particular streak on the left or right-- which seems to have little to do with evaluating the stimulus.
I took this a few months ago. I'm white, and it said I have a slight automatic preference for black people. That sounds right to me, and I think I can even pinpoint some reasons and instances why that would be. Probably too much to get into here, though.
Yeah same. It says I have a slight preference for white people over black :S Besides that, I also reckon it might be because the order of the categories. White people + Good on the left side was first so I was kinda used to that >_<
Well, I apparently have a stronger preference for White people. As it is based on response time, I'm not surprised. I've certainly been in a lot more contact with whites than blacks in my life(although how much of it is due to some sort of internal dislike for blacks or just circumstances). I guess deep down inside, I hate black people...
I think it's just because I didn't get used to it until the associated good with African American. Bizarre test, and I'm not sure how meaningful.
It is all about the speed of your answers, nothing more..... And it is not a great example of a test as ...your speed would naturally increase as you get used to the way in which it is run... DD
but the differential is really in fractions of a second... not seconds. This kind of measurement creates anticipation not judgement.
But the point is if you flip the way the questionaire is asked, it would flip the outcome...when they add in both categories and ask you to answer, the first time you think more about it, than the 2nd...thus your speed increases. It is like playing a level of a game in Mario...the 2nd time you know what to expect....so it is easier. DD
