Check out this free service: www.jott.com Dial a toll-free number and record a message up to 30 seconds in length. Jott will transcribe the message and send to your email account. Send to yourself or others.
conclusions after 15 minutes, this service blows. it looks like you can only send stuff from a computer? because whenever i call to "jott" myself, it doesn't send me a text. it just sends me a damn email. what good's an email do me out on the road etc?
This can also be used to send a voice-created email to someone on your Jott contact list. I believe there also may be a way to send a voicemail to your or their email as well.... Haven't delved into it that far yet.
Okay, Copernicus, some people may use it differently than you do. You send stuff TO a computer from your phone. If I'm driving down the road and see someone or something that prompts me for something I need or want to do, it's simple: speed-dial Jott, state ME/CONTACT and speak my message. I don't have to try to "jot" something down while I'm driving or try to remember the name or the phone or the idea until I get to a stopping place where I can then "jot" it down. I can send emails from my phone without having to log-on anywhere. Sometimes you just want to deliver information without getting into a conversation or leaving voicemail. Jott it! No tool does every job, but this one has some tricks up its sleeve that can be useful for many people.
