Shooting is always a wait and see. It's impossible to tell if he has become a consistent shooter until there is a decent sample size. But I will say him giving a crap about expending energy on defense against a bunch of 2nd and third string players in a preseason game tells me he takes things like conditioning in scrimmages and exhibition games seriously. It shows a change in behavior that gives more hope that he will be more consistent
Not yet. We all know he can post monster numbers against bad teams. He needs to show he can do that against good teams consistently.
I'm seeing the lights coming on. He seems comfortable, focused, more mature, and ultimately is just playing much smarter basketball. Small sample size, but JG4 controls his destiny at this point. If he wants greatness bad enough, I believe he can have it (multiple all-stars, all-nba teams, number one option on a playoff team etc.) but he has to stay focused and working with these coaches and vets diligently. His balance on his shot looks so much better. It's encouraging to me that he's choosing the right things to work on in the offseason. With all the division he's caused between Rockets fans, I'm just happy we get to see how this all plays out. Stay tuned. This team's exciting. TL;DR F*** it, I'm buying
I would not buy stock in Jalen. That said, on both ends of the floor, he seems to be on a completely different level than the start of last season. He must show the good sense to play within his ability with improved shot selection and efficiency while taking better care of the ball. I have little doubt his defense improves over last year. How much is the question. The competition for playing time will be fierce. Jalen must have to earn 30+ minutes. The Rockets won't sacrifice the development of other players just to give him every chance to succeed. I can see it going either way.
SELL Hopefully PHX craters sooner rather than later due to injuries and lack of cohesive flow. Jalen & PHX picks for Booker at the deadline.
I’m not buying more Jalen Green stock right now this dude has given me severe PTSD and would have to play consistently well in real games for at least the 1st 2 months of the season for me to start believing again…it would have to be consistent good play, not trash for a week or 2 then can’t miss for a 5-7 game stretch to raise his averages…rinse and repeat he shot 43% from deep on 9 attempts a game in preseason…we all know that sh*t isn’t real or sustainable he at least played a lot better than he did last preseason, so I’ll take solace in that, but preseason play is nowhere near enough for me to overcome this PTSD if he started out the season with trash efficiency once again, I wouldn’t even be surprised…I have difficulty trusting Jalen from quarter to quarter, let alone from game to game How many times have people acted on here like he’s turned the corner, and then a week later he’s back to usual? I have Jalen Green trauma
I'll buy on the dips .... I think getting the discount would turn a profit even if he's traded mid season.
Too long a track record of hot and cold to feel good. The jumper has looked smooth in camp. Certainly would go a long way if he were consistent with it finally.
Nobody buying Vleet's stock? By far best. Jalen has a better defensive rating than Adams but a slightly worse Offense rating than Adams. Average Defensive rating at around 110 ish. Jeff Uncle has some insane one in limited time. Cam has fallen down a cliff but his Defense is alright.
BUY. All me ask is that he get to the FT line 8-10 times a night. He did exactly that. That is the path. I could care less about the long ball. Just get to the line and the rest will follow.
I've already bought more and I’m planning to get even more. I'm proud to say I've never sold my shares because he always delivers. Superstardom is finally here.
Yeah this is what I came I. To post and see. He needs to have these games against the TWolves, Okc and Bostons of the league.
This is so important. I want him to get back to getting a significant number of free throws. I'd be happy with 7-8 per game. Increase the to 8-10 next season. He needs to take fewer midrange and long range jumpers. Those opportunities need to be converted into rim attacks and passes/assists. The elephant in the room is that Udoka is totally capable of overpacking the paint. In which case he's creating a situation where a 3PT shot is the right shot on most plays. However this is a terrible strategy when you know you have a player who can give you 25-30 points when we have above average pace and space. You're making a star scorer take on a role players job. Ja Morant wouldn't be excellent or motivated to be a zone buster either - even if the was the right shot to take. Good news is Udoka seems to be on it and the team is improving in that regard. Jalen has to be a little better in traffic too frankly. It may take a little time but I feel like they will figure it out very early in the season.
