I have been a Rockets fan even when they would go out the first round of playoffs against the Sonics and even when they wasn't making the playoffs and I knew they wasn't gonna make it I still watched the games. So please don't nobody accuse me of being a bandwagon jumper or anything like that.
I am a Rockets fan. I support the uniform and anybody who wears it. As long as they were it, I am a fan of them. I happen to like Yao Ming & Steve Francis. They are not mutually exclusive. BOTH need to be successful for the Rockets ti ahve a chance of winning. The team needs to step up when needed to make sure that we win ...as a team. You can be a fan of a player but still not like the team they play for. I like Tim Duncan but I hate the Spurs. I like Shaq but I despise the Lakers. I like Sam Cassell but I really don't care for the Bucks. A person can like Yao Ming or Steve Francis and not like the Rockets.
Fan of the Rockets since 92, when I was eleven. I am Chinese, and therefore I'm a big Yao Ming fan almost by default.
rockets fan for as long as i can remember...4th generation houstonian...slap the name, "houston," on it, and i'll root for it!
I started watching the Rockets on occasion when they drafted Hakeem. I became a fan when they made Rudy the coach. I think it was just the fact that he had been a great player, then a scout, then an assistant, then head coach that caused me to start watching. It made me feel that the Rockets were an organization with a degree of loyalty that you don't see much in professional sports any more. Then, of course, he almost immediately took us to a championship. I'm a Rockets fan 1st, a Rudy fan 2nd, then a Steve & Yao Ming fan. But the person that I would least like to see leave the Rockets is Rudy T.
Rockets fan eversince Hakeem started in NBA. I am also a Yao fan. But if Yao went to a different team, I would want him to play well, but not against us. Hope that answers the question. I am a Rockets fan period.
