When you see a car accident, do you rubber-neck? I admit that I do rubber-neck, and then complain when other drivers rubber-neck.
I only rubber-neck whenever other people rubber-neck. If people start rubber-necking, the traffic usually doesn't speed up until many yards past the accident, so if the line is slow while i'm next to it.. what else am I going to look at other than the wreck as I pass by?
I honk and flick off rubberneckers.....which one day will prob get me shot, and then people will slow down to see my body and shot out windows.... The cycle never ends. Moving to midtown soon, maybe I can avoid traffic as much as possible.
Of course everyone rubbernecks...it's that morbid fascination with what happened and did anyone die and can I see random body parts strewn around on the scene and is there a pool of blood and how bad was the car totaled...etc. All those who said no are lying!
Rubbernecking is like masterbation.... There are those that do it and there are those that lie and say they dont do it....
usually when there's a wreck up a head, I get in the farthest lane possible from it, instead of just getting close to the wreck, staring and then merging. I have more things to worry about (such as rubberneckers who aren't paying attention) than who's in an ambulance, and who's getting a ticket for the wreck.
I have never more agreed with a sentiment than I do this statement. I absolutely do not rubberneck and detest all that do. I would personally bring physical harm to each one of you, if I had the resources.
Whenever I see an accident, I always stop (preferably in the left lane), put on my parking brake, and take a good, long, look at the accident for about 5 minutes. If a police officer or paramedic is within earshot, I will often roll down my window and ask the person questions about what happened.
That is my worst pet-peeve...For some reason, rightly or wrongly, I thought it was just ladies that did it, but after all these years, it's mostly men that rubber neck...
Yes, and I was picking on you, hence the " ". Besides, drapg, I didn't think you would have that type of testoreone (sp?) level in you after you revealed to us the type of TV shows you watch!
I hate rubberneckers as much as everyone else. Honestly, if traffic is moving VERY slowly I will look, because i can since traffic is bumper to bumper, but I would not purposely slow down if traffic was moving briskly just to see what is going on, that is dangerous. I think my first situation is more like being an opportunist because you can and the second situation is being a TRUE rubbernecker, something I am not. I am not going to slow down on a freeway that is moving along at a brisk pace to see what is going on. That is what causes rubbernecking in the first place.
