I was watching the Knicks game and realized our teams have so much in common. Like us they:

-Have to play small ball due to lack of size
-Have no go to guy, instead having a lot of decent to good role players

If you do a breakdown of the rosters, its even more shocking.

-Undersized, fast scoring point guard - Nate Robinson, Aaron Brooks
-Athletic small forward with no handles - Wilson Chandler, Trevor Ariza
-Relatively tall white guy who can shoot - Danilo Galinari, Chase Budinger
-Really tall white guy scrub - Darko Milicic, David Andersen
-Undersized white center with no hops but somehow gets rebounds and scores well - David Lee, Luis Scola
-Dual thread PFs - Al Harrington, Carl Landry
-Defensive/Passing minded backup PGs - Chris Duhon, Kyle Lowry
-No offence bigs - Jordan Hill, Joey Dorsey/Chuck Hayes
-No defence bigs - Eddy Curry, Brian Cook

Not to mention they have Marcus Landry, Carl's little brother. This is almost creepy!

Dont the Knicks have Jordan Hill? Meaning a solid building block/potential Franchise player....

Thats more than we have, sadly.

I have no idea why people think Jordan Hill will be good. I knew when he was at Arizona that he was going to be a huge bust.

Intriguing comparison, particularly with the coaching.

Sadly I'd rather have their team.

Difference is this team actually plays defense.

Somehwhat surprisingly, the Rockets team last season was slightly ahead of the Knicks in terms of offensive efficiency (with both teams around the league average). The Knicks however, was in the bottom 1/3 (23rd out of 30th) on D while the Rockets were the 4th best.

I am curious to see where the Rockets end up this season in terms of defensive and offensive efficiency ranking.

By the way, I think the Knicks being able to at least be average in terms of offense having no real top star give me some hope that this Rockets team might be able to do the same if they simply have quickness (Brooks, Lowry), 3 pt shooting (Battier, Budinger, Ariza, Andersen, etc.), and garbage men (Scola, Landry), and a willingness to run for easy baskets.

How can you be undersize at the point? Shouldn't the point be the smallest guy on the floor? It's just something that bugs me when I hear it.

Undersized compared to other point guards in the league. 6'0" Brooks is one of the smaller starting point guards in the league and Robinson is the shortest player in the league. They're both shorter than their fellow counterparts at their positions but regardless, they are effective at what they do.

Lee won the 2001 McDonalds All American High School Dunk Contest. James 'Flight' White was the runner up.

You know what, that is a very interesting observation. Props to think of that. Our defense will definitely suffer this year in comparison to previous years but we are in no way falling to the Knicks level of defense. Too much heart on this team.

LOL at the notion that the Knicks have a better roster than ours.

It's still close without Mcgrady & Yao. With TMac, there is no question which team is better.
