In a previous post regarding EG suspension there was a comment in an article that he was losing $25K per game due to the suspension. If this is the case and he is suspended indefinitely, are we still not paying him for the games?? If we are not then is that money available to spend elsewhere?

Griffin is included in the Rockets salary cap $ even though he is not getting paid. So, if "spending it elsewhere" means going out to dinner or buying new tires for your car, yes. But if you mean player acquisitions...no!

What if he were to outright quit\retire as one runor had it? Do we get that salary removed from the cap?

No. But his 2003-04 contract is only for $2.3m so I'm not sure how significant that is in the bigger picture. Especially with Rice gone. Plus, I think the $1m vet exception is still available.

If the Rockets don't excercise his option year 4, and if Griffin is a complete "no show" for the season, then the Rockets will renounce him next summer and he will be a FA.

Hey, look at the bright side...the Raptors are paying Hakeem $6.3m for the coming season. :)

If he retired, and wanted to come back, the Rockets would still hold his rights for an entire year at his salary.

I third that motion! Please, do we need to see him everytime so that we're reminded of all the regret and disappointment surrounding him? :(
