I am hoping that we can focus the offense around Ming. I am sure when ming is be double or triple teamed, he is bound to find the open man. Mobley and Francis can still get their high lights and stat padding with some lane cutting and Ming hitting them for the open shot.

Until our forwards can hit a few shots, what's left to go to? Yao and the guards, and Yao probably can't play the whole game like the little guys can. Cato has very little consistent offense.
I'd like to see Yao at least touch the ball more often, let him find cutters, and the open guy. He shouldn't be expected to shoot every time though. Anything is better than dribbling the ball "catch me if you can-style.."

I'd like a guard-oriented offense, please. Jason Kid will be a nice start. :D

It should be balanced. It would be nice eventually to go to Ming as the primary option, but it looks like he isn't dominating right now on offense, and he's not commanding a double team. Until Ming becomes more "automatic" then Steve should also get a lot of shots.

Yao will need to be the focal point of the offense. We do not have good enough shooters to be a perimeter oriented team. Our guards are good, but not consistent enough with the perimeter shot to justify being a true guard oriented team. We will need Yao to be a major factor by making the correct passes and being a force inside.

I have completely given up on the Francis-Mobley experiment. Despite their considerable skills, this duo is not going to take the Rockets to the playoffs. As a fantasy coach, I move Francis to SG, I bring in a true point guard and a PF who can make a shot and get a rebound. I don't understand the busines-contractual side of the Rockets, but I understand that Taylor has experienced a career ending injury, that Rice's career was over before we signed him, and that the team as currently configured is not going anywhere, not this year, next year, or the year after that. Let's get real and wheel and deal!

You "be happy, everything is ok, they will mature, don't panic, let's all just believe" guys are in a for a very long rough ride. If the Rocket's stay the course, we will continue to get the same results: dumb, inconsistent, YMCA pick-up game, "where be my head" basketball. I have watched and listened to this "*****" since Francis arrived almost four years ago and I have had more than enough!

Right now Steve is the head of this offense and like it or not he is better right now than Yao Ming. When doesnt dribble dribble dribble and then take a 40 footer, he is extremely potent. He has to learn to penetrate much more(he is one of the best in the game) and make the other teams big men collapse on him driving throught the paint so that he can either get fouled or dish it off to Ming for the dunk. Yao should get more touches than he does though...

The "Francis and Mobley guard oriented show" we currently run can get us so far? Playoffs? Maybe if we are lucky but surely not past the 1st round. You only need to read a little about NBA history (except Jordan's Bulls but then Francis will never be as good as Jordan) a balanced inside outside game is the only way to consistently win games and utimately championships.
