Does Camby help offset the pounding we get against tall teams enough for us to get past the first round now? If we had been able to keep Hill I would say the addition of Camby was a guarantee of second round. Now not sure if Camby and Dalembert can do it alone.
No, we are maybe first round fodder, and that is assuming that Golden State doesn't run us down from behind, they got a lot better.
It increases our chances somewhat, before we had no rebounding but with Scola & Patterson not being good rebounders it depends on how McHale plays them. I would love to see Dalembert at the 5 and Camby get minutes at the 4 when we play big teams.
Bogut doesn't play until near the end of the season, if at all. They lost their leading scorer in Ellis, Curry's ankle breaks down every other game. Their only defense in the post, Udoh, is gone. Should I continue?
It is surprising, but I really am curious to see how this team will perform in the playoffs. It is solid all around. Maybe with Fisher it will become a tougher style team. Lowry / Dragic / Fisher Martin / Lee ---------------/ T-Will (Way at the bottom of bench) Parson / Budinger / ---- Morris (will maybe start seeing playing time) Scola / Patterson Dalembert / Camby Hill / Flynn / Thabeet were contributing very little...
Surely you're joking. Bogut is out until mid-April, and they lost their primary scoring threat. That is unless you think Richard Jefferson is going to turn back the clock about 7 years......
We're a little better depth wise but I don't see how Dalembert and Camby can play at the same time. Scola is still going to get a bunch of minutes for his offense. I think our D will be about the same.
I think they can hold on with Curry, their chemistry will be better and once Bogut gets back, they will be a lot better. Maybe you guys are right though and it is too late, guess we shall see, but I like their trades a lot better than ours.
I agree, almost. I surely think Scola will still have to play a lot of minutes for us to be effective offensively. But Dalembert and Camby should log ALL of the minutes at the 5, thus freeing up Scola/Hill or others from playing that position at all. That's when we really suffer defensively. So hopefully McHale won't try to play too much small ball and stick with our true centers always in at the 5 for defensive purposes. If Camby proves to still have enough left to be a better defender and rebounder than Dalembert, then that will make it even that much easier for Scola to have better offensive games.
GS is in full tank mode now. There's speculation that they might go ahead and shut Curry down for the rest of the season. Likewise there's a very good chance that Bogut doesn't play any more this season. That's actually the best scenario for GS so that they get to keep their own 1st round pick rather than having to send it to Utah. That pick is top 7 protected this year. The Warriors originally sent that pick to NJ in 2009 for Marcus Williams (wow what a bad trade) and then the trade was sent to Utah in the Deron Williams deal.
no way man. maybe they can do some damage next year, but this season they are in tank mode to get their 1st round pick back from utah
Obviously Denver is gone. It sure would be nice to poke our way up to #5 and draw the Clippers. I think we can beat them. And then in the 2nd round we'd have the best chance against OKC. Don't want to play the Lakers or Spurs. Don't really want to face Memphis with ZBo back.
