Are we just three games from the 3rd seed?

Outside of the Warriors the West has sucked this season.

 

Spurs are 17-4, very quietly...

 

3-8 teams have massively disappointed, only bright spot this season. We have to avoid ending up at 7 or 8, otherwise the playoffs will be over in max. six games.

 

I see OKC getting better (I guess (shrugs))

Clippers looking worse and worse they are mentally weak and Doc has no control over that locker room

I think we can jump up and maintain #4 for the rest of December if everything goes well

 

What do you guys think about Utah? Do you guys think they can stay in the playoff race for the duration of the season?

 

OKCs defense has regressed dramatically. I'd be surprised if it gets better.

 

We're undefeated since DMo was cleared to practice.

 

Last year Harden said they were really gunning for the 2nd seed.

This year they should gun for the 3rd seed. That should be their motivation right now.

 

The Rockets have had by far the weakest schedule out of any team though.

 

Yeah. It'd be nice to see their margin of victory increase, though that's been an issue for years.

 

Real test will be from Christmas until around mid Jan when face our toughest stretch of the season.

Right now it's been a cake walk of a schedule and we're still below 500.

Lucky for us besides GSW, SAS, every other team in the West has played well below expectations

 

we're actually only 2.5 games back... If we pulled it together and ended up with the 3rd seed, this season would be a MAJOR success (regular season that is).

 

I do. Gobert will be out a while though and they need a PG. Despite the bad defense I actually think Lawson would fit in well there. Hayward and Hood's seasons should both improve.

 

By the end of the year I think Houston will be between 3-6

What respect about the Spurs is they don't get the calls their way overall. I don't care how many times Ginobli and Parker flopped.. But the Warriors on the other hand a had a bit of help. Anyways the Spurs are legitimately Champions to the highest honor.

Unfortunately there is a huge gap this season between the top two teams (GS, SAS) and the 3rd team in the WC. At this point I think even Morey realizes the Rox are a tier behind the Spurs and Warriors and might be looking more long term. Just my hunch..

 

Pretty much just want to avoid Golden State in the playoffs for as long as possible. 3-8 are going to be a wash.

 

Agree. 2, 3, 6 and 7 spots are where you want to be. Ideally 3 or 6 to avoid playing the Spurs until the 2nd round.
