This post is not for the Rockets team, this post is for the so called fans on this board.

When I logged on the GARM last night I thought the Rockets had lost the game from all the negative threads that were started. Some of you guys need to figure out who and what you are cheering for, the Rockets win and most of you are b****IN because you Yao did not get enough touches or FIRE THE COACH for the same reason….. Last time I checked this was the HOUSTON ROCKETS and all the players (including T-Mac, Yao and Ron) played on the same team.

This team is 6 -4 and they are leading the division and some of you are still b****IN!!! I could see if we were the Mavericks and in last place (now they have a lot of reasons to complain); but they are in FIRST PLACE… FREAKIN FIRST even with the way they have been playing.

The last couple of games these guys have playing TEAM ball and I luv every bit of it. For those of you who don’t understand TEAM ball…. That’s when you PASS the ball around to get the best shot and EVERYONE is SCORING and not just one person.

So for all of you, who want to cheer for one person and not the team, please feel free to continue that process, but do all of us Rocket’s (Team that is) fans a favor and keep your negative comments to yourself. The last time I checked the TEAM either won a game or lost a game, not TEAM losses and player gets a win.

What standings are you looking at?

If the playoffs started today we'd be fourth. A lot of progress from last year, huh?

People have the right to discuss their concerns on this team, because there are many, and no more vocal critics of the team than the team itself. We all want to win, and it's no big deal if some guys lament the gap between the team that is currently on the field and the team we all know could potentially be out there if they play as they should.

I tend to agree with the point you made in your post regarding everyone scoring. If the Rockets continued on a great regular season with Ming and McGrady averaging around 20 ppg, their respective haters would be filling the GARM with worthless threads - even though our team could have possibly had a stellar season.

I do however need to point out a simple fact.
We may well be in first place in our division - yet we have lost to a Parker & Ginobili less Spurs - after having a 14 point lead with just under 8 minutes left in the fourth quarter. No matter how you slice it that apple is rather disgusting. And this team - even with McGrady and Ming still not at 100% - should not have come close to losing that game, but we did.
I think some of the emotion being shown by people on this forum is because we could have a better record than what we do - even if it is only one game.
The Rockets should be using this bad start by other Western Conference teams (Spurs, NO, Jazz - bad start by their standards & predictions) to take a solid grip of the third spot in the West behind the Lakers and Phoenix at this stage.
I hate to think about it but that loss at the hands of the Spurs could very well have playoff implications to this Rockets team come playoff time.

Remember, we were only 1 or 2 games off the top spot in the West last season and a first round victory over the Nuggets.
Instead we faced a difficult Utah Jazz team - all because of 1 or 2 games.

THAT i think is the reason why fans are so hot headed on this board.

Some people can't realise even if their lives depended on it - that wins at the start of the season are just as important as wins at the end of the season.

The better question is: are Rockets playing like a championship caliber team? or has rockets played up to their talent level?

BTW,before you claim negative threads come after wins, you need check the fact.Usually negative threads come out from losses, and when Yao played bad, he was the target. But when Yao was ignored right under the basket time after time, which is bad for Rockets Team, people do have rights to complain.

Now if I break those standings down by division they are in 1st....

There is a difference between voicing concerns and complaing about my player not getting the ball.

This team si still playing well even with all the issues and a majority of the issues will be fixed with time. Even Aldeman said his biggest concern was with the continuity of the team and how they would adjust. You basically have 2 new players starting and everyone is still adjusting and getting to know one another adn their game. But yet they are still in 1st in their division.

How dare you criticise the Rockets fans who trully want our beloved team to go ALL THE WAY!

In case you forgot, we went on a 22-win streak last year, and where did that get us? Booted out of the first round AGAIN!

Do not accuse people in this forum of btching. All they are doing (including me) is being more hungry to WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP. Not do well in the regular season (which doesn't mean much if you know you are going to the playoffs anyway).

You can paint the sky with rainbows all you want, and be happy that we are 6-4. Don't get me wrong, this is the most exciting season for me since the final years of Dream and Glide. And I love the rockets no matter what. That being said, I will still be critical because I honestly do not see this team getting out of the first round the way they are playing right now. And I lvoe this team so much that I want to see them succeed.

If you ask me, optimistic fans aren't the real fans because they aren't hungry enough for the team to win.

Is there anything wrong with that?

a lot of fans are blind to the big picture and as a result some of the knee jerk reactions really suck. i'm somewhat surprised at the reactions considering the extremely slow starts from the rockets the last 2 years and then the second half runs, we should know better than to doubt them.

it's fair to constructively criticize them however, as even though we are in first place, we look very mediocre at the present time. get everyone close to completely healthy and put a few more games under their belt and we'll be dangerous.

There are still 72 games left... count'em, 72... Seriously, the regular season is way too long. I can't stand stupid posters with knee-jerk overreactions after each game. All that matters is:

    1) We make the playoffs

    2) We peak at the right time in terms of team chemistry (i.e. late in the reg. season)

    3) We stay healthy

    4) We sign Deke before too long :)

And what's the go with our FT shooting this season? If we can make near 90% like we did against the Hornets, that should give us 5-10 wins atleast...

    I agree with you....

I judge this team on a nightly basis and how they are playing. If they continue to move the ball as they are doing then they are playing as a team and they should be in a position to win every time.

With the Artest acquisition, it was natural for fans to have high expectations for the Rockets. So far, the team has not met those high expectations. A 6-4 record is not impressive by any means.

So you mean to tell me you expected this team to automatically be 10 -0 with:

    a) 3 players coming off of surgery

    b) 2 New starters in the line-up (You have to consider Yao new since he basically missed the entire 2nd half of last year).

    c) Everyone still learning one another, as well as the offense?

Then you are rght, they are miserable failures.

I think that after what the Celtics did last year with, what, 66 or whatever wins that Houston should do the same. I can't explain the amazing chemistry of Pierce/Garnett/Allen right from the get go, but who can? Plus, if I remember correctly, all 3 played the entire pre-season together. For us, T-Mac, arguably our most important player, hardly played. I think a lot of us underestimate how important pre-season really is to team chemistry.

You do realize that the threads you mentioned were started after Friday's loss and not after a win right?

While generally I agree that many here have over-reacted to the play of the team, I don't think you should oversimplify the complaints to putting a player above the team. A few of the complaints were and are legitimate.

how on earth does that make sense? optimistic fans aren't real fans? because they see good things in our games??? that's incredibly ignorant. we are playing awful, but winning games...tmac is playing awful most of the time, yao is struggling, artest is struggling, and we're still winning! that is something to friggin cheer about, that's why we got artest, so tmac and yao wouldn't have to carry us, that's why we bolstered our bench, so our starters could get rests and not have to provide the offense, so our bench wouldn't be a liability on the offensive end. you call yourself a "fan" because you criticize everything, yet don't praise the things we do well? we are still a good defensive team CHEER, we don't require 30 pt efforts from tmac or yao, CHEER, our bench is playing phenomenal, CHEER...jesus man
