Well I believe traning camp is not too far away and I don't know if the Rockets are looking to do anymore moves. Then again, CD has stated that they are always looking to make the team better and has given some hints on the radio that they might not. Would it be better for the team to just stay put with the roster they currently have and see how they perform during the training camp before anymore moves? Should they mess with last year's chemistry by trading someone from last year's lineup? Are you guys satisfied with the roster we have and ready to go to war this season with the players we have?
I for one am not really satisfied. I am still worried about the health conditions of our backcourt. As much of a stud Derek Anderson was and might still be he is still injury proned and has been for a long time. Sura is as well. It sure hindered his play late last season and during the playoffs. I still hope they are looking at a two for one deal to get someone that could be effective and play all season long. It might be crazy to mess with last year's chemistry that was built up but I think a slight injury or a chance of a season ending injury will mess up our chemistry even more. Sura plays well with Mcgrady but how long will Sura last before he is injured again and again not perform up to standards when playoffs come. I like his toughness and I like what he brings when he is healthy but it is again when he is healthy. How far we go not only depends on how much Yao improves but also how healthy the rest of our players are, especially the backcourt when we are going against the young legs of Dallas and the backcourt of the Spurs. I think with the young guys of Mcgrady Yao and Swift we have a legit chance to aim for the title this season but I fear for our backcourt. I don't think it is a lack of talent issue in the backcourt because they can put up numbers and with Van Gundy they do play good defence but if their performances are hindered because of injuries then there is really nothing Van Gundy's coaching or their talent can really help with.

good for now.. lets see how it goes in training camp and early part of the season... its great we have our expiring contracts as assets.. by the time trade deadline comes around, we'll have a better feel of what holes we need to fill.. so patience might be the right move right now.

IMO, not good for now. Sorry to disagree, but with Sura's rumored health issues that will keep him out until December then the only legitimate PG is MJames and that is not good enough. We cannot get far behind in the W/L column and play catch up again this year. By and large, the players we picked up after the TMac trade were just bandaids. Some were very good bandaids and some were just placeholders, but their contracts say they must stay. The people we picked up this summer were more targeted to be upgrades at specific needs. The back court is still problematic IMO, and more action is required.

Id like to trade Wesley and a scrub for a legit pg and play the pg, james, and head at the point. Then DA, Sura, and JB could fight it out for time at the SG spot. But I like the team as is too.

I don't believe a team is ever completly done with roster moves. Who knows what's coming next for us fans. I am completly satisfied with the roster moves this offseason.

I'm very pleased with the progress we've made this offseason. We've lost none of our real contributors and added two possible starters. I'm still hoping we can work out a deal to unload our expiring contracts for a quality player or two that can be more of a long term answer, but I expect that to happen closer to the trading deadline if it happens at all.

I'm VERY happy with our roster.. the only way it would have been better is if we would have some how landed a allstar 4 I.E. KG or something crazy like that.. I dont think we will make another move durring the summer, but I could see us making a move durring the season..

We had a great offseason but what makes me nervous is our PG spot. Sura is recovering and injury prone. Although we have many old and crappy backup point guards, none of them can contribute...

I'd say that are offseason moves were great. We picked up some quality players w/ lots of potential for cheap. We didn't get tied up in any bad contracts, and we have significantly solidify our front court w/ Swift and the resigning of Deke. I'm still a little worried about our PG situation, but I think our current guards can do a decent job for now. I doubt there will be any more moves until we get closer to the trade deadline.

ADDED: Stromile Swift, Derek Anderson, Lonny Baxter, Luther Head.
Plus resigned Jon Barry, Dekembe Mutombo, Ryan Bowen.

    LOST: Spoon and Padgett.

I would say that's a pretty good offseason!! I am very satisfied with it. I would say with the resources we had available to us we got "potentially" a very good return on our investment. Let's see how it plays out.
We still have room to make other moves though. We have expiring contracts like Wesley's. This team will always look to get better.

While agreeing that the Rockets made smart moves this summer I think we have too many guards to do the job that one should run the offense. I do nnot think Jay Williams is the solution although for the right price it seems like Houston will take the risk and cut their loses. Just a thought they may leave him on the roster as a back up the trade James and others for a better point than we have now.

I think we might see another deal closer to training camp, when we can see how Sura's knee is coming along. I think we might see a deal for another PG, using our expiring contracts + Wesley or someone for a PG.

I'm happy with all the moves except for resigning Bowen. I respect his defense but I think the Rockets should gotten James Jones as a backup 3 who ended up going to the Suns.
We will just have to see if we can get better around the trading deadline in February.

I like our offseason but I'm not satisfied. I'm concernced our backcourt will sink us late in the year and playoffs. If we added a bonifide starter at either position who is younger and clearly better than what we have, I would be happy. DS would have fit the bill perfectly.

I notice a surge in repetitive or boring Rockets posts since the Texans suck.

We still need a real point guard and a solid backup at the 3.
