i have a wierd feeling i dont know why. some might say im stupid, or that i dont know what i am talking about. but do u know how there is always a deversity over a call in a game like between a star and a rook, and the vet always gets it. well yao gets alot of calls right? i think david stern is hinting this to the refs because he is bringing in more money to the league. and they'll do what ever to make him happy. ok and if thats not enough for ya maybe its because we are the rockets. when in nba history has a team u shouldve been having the 9th pick in the draft end up with number 1? how does yao go from 200,00 votes behind shaq to all the way 200,000 votes past shaq?....ok ok maybe im wrong about everything i just think its a real good topic that should be looked at seriously. no one knows what goes behind doors. does anyone agree with me? and if u disagree tell me what u think. go rox!
really i didnt know they had played that well prior to getting shaq i thought they didnt get a descent record till after shaq thanks for the info
Yup. They had the best nonplayoff team record (41-41) but still got the 1st pick. The Magic got O'Neal after going 21-61.
i havealot of basketball knowledge and that is something i did not know. still what about the refs and the voting. still got something for me?
for the refs, they may respect the fact he playing so well despite missing the preseaon and learning better english and how to live in this country.......for the votes, I don't think legit conspiraces have to have Yao win by such a big percentage
i still dont know, your points are very reasonable. however, i think that david stern has alot to do with some of the calls and how the refs react to certain players with certain calls. and i heard some rumor from this site a few days back about stern doing something with yao's votes
I might be wrong...Didn't orlando already have Shaq, get the #1 pick, draft Webber(or someone), and trade him for penny? Uggg....I can't remember
I seriously doubt your conspiracy theory. There have been many in the past. The Ewing frozen card, the Hornets back to back picks, the Magic picks, etc. To pull of such conspiracies of huge magnitude would call for the cooperation of too many people for it to stay a secret. I think Rockets fans have just got Yao under a microscope and see much more than the rest of the league does. Its an interesting idea and makes for good conversation, however.
well i could be and prolly am wrong about much of what i have siad but i dont know hwy i still got a feeling that things arent so "truthful" in david sterns office or russ grant for much of that matter
doh, no edit! What I meant was you are automatically a "Junior Member" when you first sign onto the BBS. When you hit your 40th post, you become a "Member." (that sounds bad) After some other number of posts 'x', you become a senior member.
oh i c thnkas for the info. it made more since for u to be a junior member than a member. when u find out how many posts to be a senior member let me know please.
I do not think that there are any conspiracy theories going around. To my knowledge, Yao was only behind Shaq 10,000 before pulling away recently. My theory is that after seeing the first tallies, the Yao fans started voting en masse. The Rockets getting the first pick shouldn't be a huge surprise. They have 13 teams in the lottery for a reason. Every team has a chance. Besides, why would Stern rig it for the rockets? They're among the league low in attendance. New York would be a better place to put him for Stern.
