i'm tired of looking for batteries when i need it. and it's bad for the environment too. i wish there are like solar powered camare, and such.

you still have to replace them often though. a lot of the stuff don't come with the internal rechargable batteries. i was hoping for stuff like solar power. :D

that would save a lot people from embarrasement. :D like people doing shady stuff at night wouldn't be caught on camera. or we could go with night vision ones. :)

    Which would require batteries.

    To the OP:

Hydrogen fuel cells could possibly replace some batteries at some point, but the process wastes more energy and hydrogen storage isn't particularly safer right now. I think it behooves us to look at developing better batteries in parallel with replacements for batteries.

    No you don't.

You want batts for your camera? Get a few Sanyo 2700mah cells. They give you about 500 cycles.

Or pick up some Eneloop AA's. They have the advantage of lasting very long when not in use (which is the downfall of other NiMH batteries)

Imagine taking a photograph then your camera malfunctions... you open the battery cover and then...

There is a company here in Austin that is working on doing exactly that. They just raised a lot of capital and have filed some patents that are supposed to allow for a quick release of energy and quick refill in storage, that is not related to current battery technology.

The company itself is mum, but the tech editor at the Austin American statesman dug it out....apparently it is a MAJOR deal.

Its gonna be used mostly for cars and the technology is far from sealed. The material they are using is old (meaning its been around for a while) and its just a matter of how they are getting the results they claim.

anyways my point is if they are telling the truth it is good for hybrid cars but not for consumer devices.

They've "invented" capacitors? Methinks maybe we give out patents too easily.

they are high performance capacitors with the capability of holding a charge a long time like a battery.
