Amen has never played these kind of monster minutes. FVV and Brooks look tired as well. All-star break can’t get here soon enough. We need a trade to hold us over until Jabari gets back. Williams and Brogdon are my picks.
7 games in 10/11 days - with majority against the upper teams in league (they could be abit gassed) I don’t remember seeing JG and Amen hunched over as much as I have the last few games
They must've run out of gas right during this game. lol. Could be a case of them running out of players that is also exposing their weaknesses the most. Even against a sorry team like the Nets.
No doubt. Grizzlies and OKC, before Chet got hurt, had everyone capped at 30 minutes. We got Rico Suave Thibodeau in charge of our rotations
I see a familiar pattern. Long west coast road trip and then lose the first game at home (Pistons). Long East coast road trip and then lose the first game at home (Nets). The lack of energy was the same in both.
I'm sure they were tired tonight. It was their 5th game in 8 days. And Brooklyn hadn't played since Wednesday. But it's the Nets for chrissakes! If they had to come home and face the Thunder or Grizzlies, I'd understand. BTW, the Nets don't play again til Tuesday. So they'll again have had 2 days of rest. Meanwhile, the Rockets are gonna be playing their 3rd game in 4 nights. But you have to be able to knock off lousy teams even when you're tired.
Not to worry, the bulk of the hard games are behind us now. But....to answer your questions...yes and no. The Rockets need another major piece cause no Tier 1 superstar is close being developed here. History tells us you need at least one of those to win. No outliers there either. The Rockets are young, and it will be growing pains. Thats fine. We have to take the good with the bad. There has been a lot more good than bad. We will be alright. Just know this is a growing year. Curb your expectation and you will be alright.
This happens every year to some teams in the run up to the ASB. I was very concerned about it when the new year rolled in, especially when Jabari broke his hand while Tari was still out. However, after Amen moved into the starting lineup, his increased role added juice to the team and they started January 11-3. Nevertheless, I continued to worry about them hitting a wall and maybe we're here. Next up: 7 games in 10 days, including 3 back-to-backs before the break. Keep in mind the Rockets have had a habit of bouncing back from disappointing losses (including the two straight bitter losses to the T-Wolves and Heat). Maybe Alpi returning Monday will set things right. Or maybe they will stumble. Gut check time!
10 games in 16 days from the second Cleveland game until Feb 9 vs Toronto THREE 3-games-in-4-nights sets: 1.) @Cleveland, @Boston, @Atlanta (done) 2.) Brooklyn, @NY, @Brooklyn 3.) @Minnesota, @Dallas, Toronto Two of our main rotation guys (Adams and Tari) can't play b2b games. What is this schedule
