Not sure, I just know Harden made a comment about how its easy to play basketball when you are 7ft tall and can just run around and dunk the ball, and he actually has to have some skill (implying Giannis had it easy). I think guys who want a ring are willing to put that stuff aside, CP3 playing for the Rockets and then the Warriors and now Spurs, some of his biggest rivals his whole career being an example.

I don't want it o happen but if there is a trade for Giannis hypothetically speaking I'm assuming it would be a package centered around Sengun because Giannis and Sengun are probably the least compatible star duos I could imagine. Offensively they both need the ball in their hands and both score almost entirely in the paint.

Rockets could have a nasty 5 out transition squad -- the rim pressure would be insane.

    Giannis
    Jalen
    Tari
    Bari
    Amen

Why are we taking back all these scrub players? Not into it tbh. I could see parting with Jabari, Reed and Cam maybe. Not sure I'd want to give them both Reed and Amen. I might not see the unquestionable super star ceiling for Amen but I do see an all-star level talent and he's way too valuable to package him with 2 other pieces of our core for a Giannis who's going to decline in the next couple years.

Whatever the deal is for Giannis, I would think it would have to include Sengun, right? Why would you want both Sengun and Giannis on the same team?

Same concept if we trade for Booker or Mitchell. What point is there to keep Green and not make him the centerpiece of the trade package?

If Giannis is getting traded here, Sengun will be the main centerpiece in the trade package.

If Booker gets traded here, Green will be the main centerpiece in the trade package.

Yeah that's a fair point tbh, Giannis and Sengun doesn't work, Booker and Green doesn't work. When you actually think about it that way, if both guys continue to emerge as legit all-star caliber talents then maybe the best target is a lot more left-field than everybody is assuming/suggesting so far. I'd actually be inclined to look towards the PG position (Fox is a good recent suggestion) when you consider that we already have Amen/Bari/Tari/Cam who all fit in the wing positions and don't necessarily need to be high-usage/volume players.

Yeah exactly. Makes no sense to keep the guy that you're replacing. If you're gonna make a big move like this, seems obvious that the guy you're replacing would be part of the package.

I agree Giannis and Sengun wouldnt mesh. This is just out there floating around not something I particularly advocate, but interesting that its achievable without needing to include Sengun or Jalen. I guess it opens up further wheeling and dealing?

I love Alpi but he has his shortcomings. In the best case scenario he probably can't reach Giannis status as is so it's easy trade for me. I am talking about him because Alpi and Giannis can't coexist while Jalen and Giannis would actually cook

I think that proposal is trying to put together a package for right now and maybe Sengun and Green aren't available to trade yet because of the extensions. Eventually I think a Giannis offer would have to include one of those 2 but even then, it'd have to beat an OKC offer with up to 8 1sts including an unprotected Clippers pick in the Cooper Flagg draft so I really just dont see it happening.

Nice catch, it was before the title. I haven't spoken with Wes in 3 years, and probably 4 since I was inner circle.

I'm using information like the way Villa is spending in the Prem League and the way they ate Budenholzer's contract and brought in Doc so quickly last season.

    They are paying Griffin $4mm/yr
    Budenholzer $8mm/yr
    Rivers $10mm/yr
    $22mm/yr for the HC position.

When Wes puts his money somewhere you can be sure his mouth and heart are aligned. So, anecdotal more than first-hand this far removed but, I think the tea leaves would support the view.
