I dont know much about him but Fox sports says his advisors informed them that he will not pull his name out of the draft. The rockets interested in Ford from U of Houston at all? Just curious? Haven't heard his name at all around here. Also dont know how well he played this year just remmember he was a top notch prospect from high school

He made a big mistake coming out early. He'll be a second rounder at best.

I thought maybe the houston connection might play a role.. fox says dallas and other want to give him a work out.. anyways i guess not intereted.. thanks guys for the help

And you thought Rashard Lewis cried when he wasn't drafted until the 2nd round. I can't wait to see Ford's reaction. At least he'll be smart enough to stay at home away from the live cameras.

Ford has no offensive skills. He dominated in high school because of his big body. In college was was just another big man. If I were the Texans I'd draft him to play tight end. The kid could prove everyone wrong but I think he's making a big mistake. And the Rockets should stay away from him.

Carrol Dawson said during an interview with 610 that he thinks Ford should stay in school. Of course he said in a more round about politically correct GM sort of way, but he said it. Specifically he said that Ford was just finding his niche at UH and would benefit greatly from continuing that.

I hope so. Rudy could atleast give the guy a shot. If he gave Pig Miller and that guard from Texas Tech a shot then Big Alton should get one. He would be a steal FA pickup.

Kim is right. I heard him say the same thing. CD was politically correct but said Alton should go back to school.

I think Alton made a mistake coming out.

He's a wide body, and that's about it, right now. About 6'9 and 270.

Supposedly, he is concentrating on his rebounding in try-outs.

He's had some attitude problems, but someone may still take a flyer on him in the second round. He really should have played college ball another year and seen if he could bring his stock up.

Ford lacks the maturity to be in the NBA. I hope he didn't get an agent.

Remember college is still about going to class, writing papers and getting an education. Kids with few academic skills can have a very hard time, even with basket weaving 101.
Even if Alton Ford doesn't get drafted he can play in the CBA or the European Leagues and get paid to work on his game. That's got to beat $20 laundry money and a dorm room.

According to my source, a friend of Ford, he would have failed out within the next year because he never goes to class. His attitude towards the classroom greatly influenced his decision.
