Didn’t want to post in the NBA forum also not in D&D. but lately there has been a big push to embrace and accept obesity in this country, some states even moving to criminalize body shaming (mostly leftist like NY **surprise**). don’t you dare say it about any female either, but when it comes to Zion everybody keeps talking about how fat he is and how he “lUvS MaCdoNaLDs” Hard to imagine a professional athlete being obese. The pelicans are even having him weighed monthly. This is true body shaming and bullying and we accept it
Correct, F A T shaming is only bad when it's women. It isn't ever wrong, though. In Zion's case, it's especially correct because part of his job is staying healthy. Fat boy doesn't appreciate or respect his opportunity.
you know who else gets fat-shamed? Chris Christie The Disgraceful and Stupid Fat Shaming of Chris Christie The governor, who's been open about his struggles with his weight, is subjected to cruel and immature taunts https://observer.com/2015/06/the-disgraceful-and-stupid-fat-shaming-of-chris-christie/
I don't understand FAT SHAMING - if you are fat you know you are fat.......it may be rude to say something but it doesn't mean it isn't true. And the shame of it, is a personal choice. I am fat, I know it.....so what.....that's 100% on me. I don't get this whole....fat shaming thing....it is really strange...... Are they being rude, sure they are - that is an entirely different story - should they be offended when people say they are fat? Like it is some secret? Folks know it when they are fat, there is nothing sexy about it.....and there is nothing sexy about fat women either...at least in my viewpoint, nothing sexy about fat men either.....so...yeah.....I don't get it. I have repeatedly told my buddy that zion won't make it in the league because of his weight. it's not fat shaming. it's the reality of it. at the end of the day, extra weight takes a toll on your body. my parents are dealing with it (cancer/knee replacement..and various other comorbidities). you don't have to shame anyone or be cruel to them but we have to take self-responsibility.
Fat people know they are fat and will even acknowledge it. However that isn't the issue - the issue is when it is used as a form or harassment, and repeatedly used to bully people. Someone being fat doesn't mean it is open season to publicly humiliate them - same with someone that is short or ugly or old - etc. I have been fat at different points in my life (or at least I considered myself fat - I was around 6 and a half feet tall and 300 lbs at my heaviest), but there is a difference between knowing you are fat and having people constantly point it out or make fun of you. I say that as someone that never really had anyone harass me about it, but I can only imagine it is difficult. For all the stupid **** that has come out of your mouth, this is the reason that I have respect for you and would get a beer with you - you are at the end of the day big on personal accountability. Telling someone that they are fat is different than repeatedly being made fun of over it. I have developed a really thick skin - but I know a lot of people do not. I guess how fat is FAT? Personally I like women that have some fat in the ass, chest and thigs - I don't have to worry about hurting them when I am throwing them around.
There really is no excuse for a professional athlete to be fat. That's your profession and you're basically paid to workout all day. A fat professional athlete is just a lazy employee at any other job and should get called out on it.
i respect, but its not a static situation. I know you've been told a million times, but you can lose all that and save yourself heart attacks, necrotic limbs, dyring kidneys, strokes etc. I dont believe in bullying, but obesity is directly linked to mortality
While I’m not condoning any form of shaming. The glorification and forced acceptance of obesity is a much bigger problem. It’s flat out unhealthy and an epidemic in America. I love curves as much as the next guy, that’s not what I’m talking about.
