Now that Altuve has reached 200 hits, it seems apparent that the Astros excel at filling the bag at second base, perhaps like no other team in history

We've literally had 3 of the top 10 greatest 2nd baseman in history...

    1. Morgan
    2. Biggio
    3. Kent

    But additionally we've had...

    1. Altuve
    2. Doran
    3. Burke

Second Base University? Part of our culture. Part of who we are as a baseball franchise.

Are we the best ever in the history of baseball?

Biggio is an all-timer, and Billy Doran was sneaky good, but

Morgan played his best years with the Reds.

Kent played here 2 seasons, and Tuve only has 1 great season.

And did your really throw Chris Burke in with these guys LOL

Don't forget, second base was my position too, gentlemen. So...there's that.

How could you leave out Kaz "Anal fissure" Matsui?

Casey Candaele seals the deal for the Astros.

I'm thinking Dodgers with Jackie, Sax and Davey Lopes ranks up there pretty high.

Is it just me or does Nelly Fox look just like George Brett?

FWIW, Morgan played in Houston for parts of 10 seasons, and put up 30.6 WAR in Houston (basically from his 7 full seasons here).

Sure he was a better player in Cincy, but he was still an all-star caliber player during his 7 full seasons in Houston.

Eric Bruntlett is probably the best second bagger in Astros history.

I can't believe there's been zero discussion of Mark Loretta and Jeff Keppinger in this thread. You guys are slipping.

I remember Edwin Maysonet, Jason Smith, & Matt Kata. Those sure were the days.
