Teams seem to be rejecting a lot of offers from the Rockets - notably Memphis and Minnesota.

We also know a few other trade were discussed but fell apart. To date, no one has come close to doing a trade with the Rockets.

Now, that's probably just the way it is, there's 29 or 30 teams, and only a few will execute trades. But it is unusual that the Rockets, who were so intent on making moves this off-season, haven't done anything but acquire some second rounders and sign a free-agent that was cast-aside by a team that took our top free agent away from us first.

I am wondering if teams are fearing looking bad...that is, if you are a GM of a team, do you want to be Morey's next victim...

especially after the whole, "let's get predatory" talk at the beginning of the off-season.

Would Les/Morey have been smarter to admit to mistakes they have made, to underplay their skills, and to say there isn't much deals and it might be a tough summer?

"Scared" of doing business with Morey? LMAO.

Here's a new concept for you. When you've collected a bunch of players YOU think are valuable...using YOUR criteria for VALUE...why in Hell would you expect the other 29 teams to place the same value on them?

If they are, they need to grow a pair...seriously. Afraid?

Morey is good, but does he put fear in people? Nah...

We haven't won a championship. Morey hasn't made anyone look dumb so far. His biggest move was to acquire Ron Artest for a one year rental. Maybe we Rocket's fans think he is so smart with his MIT education and well he is but that still doesn't mean other GM's are going to be afraid to deal with him. It's not like we have dominated the league or anything with our great pickups.

Houston has little of value that would return the type of player they need. Assuming your not trading Scola, you have to package multiple players to get a decent player in return and then we are weak at those positions.

Lol, yes, scared was a too strong of a word. But I would think after the Pau Gasol fiasco and Morey's rep as well as Les stating it was time to get predatory on financially distressed teams...

All of these things has to cross a GM's mind and influencing any deal. Afterall, they never want to look bad...and if you think you are dealing with a shark at the other end of the table - you are not really going to do anything that might make him look good - dont you think?

Morey hasn't gotten any rings. Until we win a championship under Morey nobody is scared of him. The guy is obviously a very intelligent GM, but he is extremely inflated by us (Rockets fans) because we love him so much.

I dare say no GM is going to look at a guy who traded Rudy Gay for Shane Battier and think "Geez, I better not do business with him."

You must be new to the GARM. "Patience" in the GARM means we'd better have our entire roster set for opening day by 11:01 am in July 1st.

They are not afraid but they know the situation the Rockets are in ( Re. Yao ) so they are playing their cards cautiously. Any sign of desperation makes GM all around the league hungry to take advantage off. Morey for one is like that so it takes one to know one.

That's an excellent point. Plus, other general managers had nothing to do with Morey low balling Gortat, so he could get scooped up by Cuban. Other general managers had nothing to do with Morey tossing a 30 million dollar contract at a wing player, even though we had Shane, Wafer, and had just drafted another one.

Extremely strange off season, extremely strange.

I don't think they are scared, but people in san antonio still cringe when they see scola wearing a Rocket uniform. Maybe they don't want to look stupid like SA.
