    Assuming Scola comes over +
    Assuming Hayes is re-signed +
    Reed +
    Novak +
    Landry +
    Butler (some 4?)

are the Rox thru collecting 4s?

What will Sura be used to get? (Gone?)

Let's wait until the dust settles...I still see some more trades we happening and Scolas isn't even on contract with us yet..

Butler is a center. Though short he has a standing reach of 9'1 and big body.

The guy is 6'10" I don't think that is short for a 4/5.

Reasonable question Thread IMHO. I imagine it will take a promise that LS could compete for the starter's role to get him here this year, and there is a wealth (sic) of other 4s on the roster already.

Are you serious? Have patience. I doubt Novak, Butler, Scola, Reed and Landry even get a combined 14mpg for the Rockets next year.

I think they are going to make Novak a 3, not 4...
Justin Reed will be gone before season start..

    are you serious??

If we get scola im pretty sure he alone will average at least 25mpg.

He seems like a quality 4 man

So, the Rockets and most people on this board are ready to hand over the starting PF spot to a guy from the Euro league who has never played in the NBA?

Secondly, I don't want to generalize about European players, but they many seem to play little defense and to be a bit soft. That is the exact opposite of what the Rockets need at the power forward position.

And people say we're supposed to be competing for a championship?

That Manu Ginobli guy definitely doesn't play much defence. Oh - but he's not European and neither is Scola

And wasn't he the second best player on the Argentinian team that BEAT the 'superstar' team USA? Wasn't it Scola who many people were raving about at the time with his long arms and athletcism?

Let's face the facts, we won 50+ games with Chuck Hayes as our best PF option, I fail to see how the best player in Europe could be worse?

Everyone keep bring up Reed... he is not even on Rockets summer league team. Why you would think he will be on the roster next season?

First off I dont think we will get him. And if he is getting 25mpg next season than I guess Adelman wwill be looking for a job because we will finish worse than last year. Span was supposed to be getting 25mpg. LOL. Very rarely do foreign players have an impact their first season.

Novak plays the 3 primarily and Justin Reed is most likely to be waived or traded in a package for some other player. That leaves only leaves Chuck, Scola-if he comes over, and Landry as our PFs. Butler can play backup 4 or 5. I still think the Rockets will get some more big men. None of the 4s we have are starter quality just yet. They are all young and will develop in time, but they do need some experience.
