I have a neighborhood pool and i dont see children there, was wondering if this was a stupid post, is there kids where you at swimming? or teenagers secretly sneaking in these pools at night? How are the rules at the apartment complexes? I guess most places wont let kids swim during this summer just wondering.
Think it varies by neighborhood. Our pool is open but 50% capacity allowed. Check with your HOA or community center or complex. No idea on apartments but would assume most are closed due to lack of supervision of capacity guidelines
Our dumbass neighborhood opened them up, then the teenage lifeguard caught Covid - people are so ****ing selfish - just go without swimming for a year, or if you must hit up a lake, buy a ****ing pool, or find a swimming hole. Don't endanger others because you are a selfish twit. DD
Why don't people say, "where you are"? Why is it so common to say "where you're at" ? They both have the same syllables. (and... yeah, I saw the 'your' vs. 'you're')
I set up a 24 inch by 12 foot cheap inflatable pool in my back yard as a stopgap for the year. Kids love it, wife can float. It came with a filter, chlorine for this size of pool is cheap. Everyone wins. (we had a pool at a previous house, never again).
In a residential/single family housing neighborhood, it would depend on the city and/or the HOA if you have one. Some of the ones around me had opened partially and others not at all at one point. Not sure about now. Why anybody would want to go to one during this crap is beyond me, but hey, there were people irate about them not being open on Nextdoor, so what do I know?
All our neighborhood pools are open and we've actually been to them a few times now. I believe they're operating at 50% capacity and only 25% in the pool at one time. Had to sign a waiver, bring our own chairs, encouraged to wear a mask when not in the pool and the HOA office even gave us some hand sanitizer with our pool tags. My wife and I both felt swimming was safe enough so long as the pool isn't crowded, and it hasn't been. The past weekend we had it pretty much to ourselves except for the first and last ten minutes when another family was there. As for the lifeguards, we keep our distance from them and they from us. We try to get in and out of the pool using the steps and no handrails. And we have't brought food or drink like we would in the past. Honestly, I don't think it's any more risky than going to a park, taking a walk, going to a beach (that isn't crowded), etc.
Pools and boats... the happiest days of owning one are the first day and the last day. Or so the saying goes.
Our pool opened up about a 3 weeks or so ago, I think around 50% capactiy. I haven't been this year, since we have a 3 month old in the house.....
Lots of work. Even if you have a pool person, you’re doing work. Kids and wife promised to do it...I ended up doing it. I’m happy with the neighborhood pool with lifeguards. Good socializing too.
