are lizards with no legs considered snakes?

    IIRC they have vestigial limbs inside the body and some other traits that separate them from snakes and make them more like lizards, even though they look the same.

    The scales of snakes and lizards are different.
    There are also Skinks, (which look like legless lizards)

    We have legless lizards in Australia.


    I guess one MAJOR difference, no fangs or venom.
