Or even late at night (like til 2-3am?) How are the monthly fees? Any suggestions? Thoughts on particular gyms/specific locations? Any info would be great.
24 Hour Fitness - Greenbriar Club Hours: Monday 5:00 am 10:00 pm Tuesday 5:00 am 10:00 pm Wednesday 5:00 am 10:00 pm Thursday 5:00 am 10:00 pm Friday 5:00 am 10:00 pm
With respect to monthly fees, check to see if the gym you are considering has any health care plan affiliations. For instance, we get $40.00/month off of our Lifetime Fitness membership if my wife and I each go 12+ times/month. It knocks that $90/month down to $50/month.
Looks like a 3 month membership is 149 bucks. I haven't stepped foot in a Gym in like 3 years. 24 Hour Fitness, 50 a month doesn't sound bad, and if I stick with it, I'll go in and do the full membership. I just don't want to get stuck in membership hell.
IF YOU ARE NEAR A LIFETIME GO THERE. Sorry. Caps lock. Definitely go there. It rolls up 24 hour fitness and smokes it and then blows smoke rings with the smoke and gets real high and runs around with its eyes half closed.
Lifetime is nowhere close to me. Sugarland is the closest one, but that's a 30 minute drive from work, then another 30 minute drive home. 24 Hour Fitness, there's one about 4-5 miles from my house, somewhat along the way home from work. But I'll keep it in mind, how much? And what membership do you have?
I believe that is an express. You would have to go to a regular club. If you can look that up by yourself, I am sure you can find a club open 24 hours
bobrek, can you please go further into detail about this. me and my sister have a membership at lifetime and we'd love to get it down to $50/mo. for the the 2 of us. We almost go everyday so 12 times a month would be nothing to us. Thanks.
For hours & price, Should be able to get something under 50 bucks a month at 24 hour fitness (just cuz its called 24 hour doesnt actually mean its 24 hours so check the times and type of gym it is). Do have to add there's a give and take between certain type gyms. Big time gyms, especially 24 Hour Fitness operates mostly as business-first. Depending on the gym, they might focus less on the conditions of the gym cuz they're more concerned about sales and raking in the dollars...Actual more pleasant workout experience might be with a more private local gym, where there might be more geniune care and attention to the facilities. But they tend to be more expensive. Especially if you're looking for one open late at night that'll limit your options. I have a 24 hour membership and havent had much to complain about cuz I understand a huge building can be hard to keep up with & wont let petty stuff affect me. & I like how most the Sports ones have basketball courts. I'm sure there are gyms out there that might have a more comfortable overall environment to it, and the employees dont seem as "pushy". But yeah, just avoid the contracts and prepaid plans if you're unsure Give them all a test run before you decide
Well, I'm willing to do the prepaid plan of 90 days to kinda test out the waters, see what it's like. I mean, i could always do a 1 week trial, but well, I don't think 1 week is a fair trial, although it could help. I may head up there tomorrow morning and see what's up, there's the 24 hour fitness in Meyerland that'll probably be my best bet. looks like it's an actual 24 hour place. I just need to start filling up my MP3 player so I can have something to do while sitting there and being like one of 5 people in the whole place at 2am
That would be an express level gym, the only one of its kind in Texas. And one of the smallest gyms in the entire company, as a matter of fact No express level gyms are open 24 hours, only a few Active level gyms are, and almost every Sport gym is. Meyerland would be your best bet for late night workouts.. if you have any questions, ask me, i know everything there is to know about 24....
Fitness Connection on 45 north and Greens. Its attached to Greenspoint mall. They are open 24 hours.. except on weekends.. They close fridays at midnight then open at 5 am and close up early. But during the week its 24 hours. There are different levels of payment depending on how much you pay to sign up. I chose to pay the most to sign up and pay only 10 bucks per month. My sign up fee was like 445 or something.
My health insurance is through HealthPartners. They (and I assume other insurance providers), have deals in place with Lifetime (and I assume other health clubs) that if you go a specific number of times per month (in my case it's 12), you get $20 off your monthly membership fee. Since my wife is also on my health plan, it also applies to her. Check with Lifetime to see if they have a deal in place with your insurance and if they do, then you fill out a form at Lifetime and it usually takes a couple of billing cycles for it to start. I live in Minnesota and last summer, Lifetime bought out Northwest Health clubs (it was big in the Twin Cities area). Originally Lifetime did not offer this benefit, but if you had it at Northwest, Lifetime allowed you to continue it. Recently (I think this calendar year), Lifetime began offering to all of their members. Instead of billing us $93.xx per month by Lifetime, we get billed $53.xx. Last year it was 8 visits per month, but they upped it this year.
