Have fun in prison the rest of your life, Abu. Now I want to hear all the liberals defend him and offer reasons for why he would do something like this.

Arab-American convicted of plotting to kill Bush

    Associated Press

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — An Arab-American college student was convicted today of joining al-Qaida and plotting to assassinate President Bush.

The federal jury rejected Ahmed Omar Abu Ali's claim that Saudi authorities whipped and tortured him to extract a false confession.

Abu Ali, a 24-year-old U.S. citizen born to a Jordanian father and raised in Falls Church, Va., could get life in prison on charges that include conspiracy to assassinate the president and providing support to al-Qaida.

Abu Ali told authoritiees shortly after his arrest at a Medina, Saudi Arabia, university in June 2003 that he joined al-Qaida and discussed various terrorist plots, including a plan to personally assassinate Bush and to establish himself as a leader of an al-Qaida cell in the United States.

But the defense countered that he was tortured by the Saudi security force known as the Mubahith.

The jury deliberated for 2 1/2 days. Abu Ali swallowed hard before the verdict was read but otherwise showed little emotion.

Everytime I think you're as ignorant as humanly possible, you manage to get even more ignorant. Incredible!

When have liberals on this board ever defended something like this? If you are going to make a charge please provide proof.

In the past you have similar baseless claims and never provided any evidence behind your baseless accusations.

You were given the opportunity to provide evidence for your many unfounded attacks, and have yet to produce any proof.

Either put up or shut up when accusing a group of something like that.

As for as investigating reasons for why crimes happen, it is called motive. It is a standard crime fighting technique, and also useful in problem solving.

    Your skills are lacking.

I did not defend what they did, and said that anyone committing a crime should probably be punished.

I did explore some of the reasons why there was a situation where those riots could happen.

I likewise would not defend rioters in the Watts riots, but we know the state of civil rights in the 60's and mentioning the discrimination that existed didn't mean anyone was excusing rioters.

And Venezuelan leader, and Puerto Rican nationalist, and discussed targeting Al-Jazeera, but that's beside the point.

    Life sentence seems appropriate.

this case was riddled with problems. its a f'ing joke.

he was tortured in saudi. he wrote whatever they wanted him to write. yet the courts permitted that to be used. a travesty.

but sorry. who cares about that lil technicality called the law.

The last thing the liberals would want is the death of Bush and let a psychotic sociopath like Cheney further rape our once proud nation.

Look at all this sympathy for an al-Qaeda wannabe and someone who admitted to wanting to assassinate the President.

Is this what the liberals have devolved into? Get a grip on yourselves people, your emotions have driven you to these ridiculous depths.

    Dear LIBERALS:

As a Conservative, I just wanted to let you know that Bigtexxx and T_J are just goading you. They are probably sitting around with some buddies at work (or they possibly work together) and are getting off on watching your reactions. Just ignore them if it annoys you, or goad back and watch the fun unfold.
