I've supported Simms all year long, and it looks as if now he may get his shot. However, it's not in the way that I would have liked it to come. I went to the LSU game last night, and was watching the Texas game on TV over there after it ended. When Major went down in the 3rd, didn't it appear like he just went straight down on his knee, causing a bruise? I didn't see any type of twist that could have torn ligaments. And he was walking after the game too. But read this quote from the game recap at ESPN:

Mack Brown didn't act like it was that bad, and it didn't look bad either. But they do say that when you've already torn an ACL, you can tell when/if you do it again. Sounds scary if you ask me. And FYI, this is the other knee than the one he tore his ACL in in the Cotton Bowl last year. If it is the worst, we may not see Simms redshirt next year either. Would you trust a quarterback to come back and play great football coming off two torn ACL's in two years? I wouldn't. Simms better be ready; this doesn't sound good at all.

Anyone around Austin (RM95, others) please post any updates when/if you hear them. I hope and pray it's not serious, but Major's quote really has me worried.

I'm pretty sure, no matter how serious, it was the other knee that he hurt this time.

I'll try and get some info.

Let me start by saying that I hope Applewhite's injury is something minor and that he will be ready to start vs. KU or A&M.

I also think that Simms is a better QB than Applewhite (call me crazy). I had Alabama vs. Texas in the national championship game this year (call me crazy again).

The problem with Simms is that he locks in on one receiver the whole way. This is just inexperience. Every time the kid gets rhythm or is in trouble, Mac pulls him. I would love to see Simms get all the snaps in one game. A rematch vs. A&M would be quite nice this time with Simms prepared to start.

Have you heard the rumor of Greg Davis to the Houston Texans? No No No...He will ruin the career of Michael Vick just like he did Chris'.

I was @ the game, right by the UT sideline and we didn't know what the heck happened to Applewhite. He was walking around fine and was talking to Simms but we didn't know what was up. I guess injuring Applewhite can be Tech's only positive in the game. As usual in these close games Tech finds a way to shoot themselves in the foot. This time around it was the Special Teams.

Well, as long as Tech wins this week vs OSU they will get to play in the GalleryFurniture.com Bowl in Houston, and a bowl game will be a nice end to Leach's first season @ the helm.

Heard on the radio today that Applewhite won't need surgery, but he will definitely miss the next game.

Sounds like good news. His story is incredible and I'd hate to see it come to a premature end.

I'd like to see how Chris plays when he doesn't have to look over his shoulder.

The rumor is Kubiak will be named Head Coach and Davis will be his OC. Davis coached Kubiak at A&M.

Too bad the KU game isn't on TV. If anything should happen to Chris, look for Beau Trahan to play QB over Chance Mock.

I was reading on another site that Tech will probably go to a better bowl game than the galleryfurniture.

Please tell me you are joking. PLEASE. It does help me on one account- I'd give anything to get him out of Texas, but promoted to the pros for my favorite pro team? Let the nightmare end. I'm so sick of our predictable play calling, and the way we misuse our talent offensively. We have better running backs than OU, better receivers than OU, a better line than OU, and a quarterback who has the potential to be great. Why is OU number 1 with less talent and us 19? The system. I've seen us so many times just continually try to establish the run by time and time again running Hodges up the middle. Running a 5'7 185 poound running back up the middle against a team with 8 or 9 men in the box will not get it done. Sometimes you have to go away from the game plan a little to be effective. I've yet to see Davis do that at all. Maybe he can get it done, but right now I don't think he's a good fit at all for our team.

    SC,

Did you happen to hear actually what the injury was?

I'm hoping it's Kubiack with the Texans. No way it's Greg Davis.

    Oh, and you're crazy.
