I've just realized that I *have* harbored an unfair bias against Mobley. No matter what Cat does, I've always looked for something wrong with the way he's playing. That's not saying I wasn't happy when he did well, or htat I wanted him to fail... just that I tried to categorize him as a boneheaded ballhog, and that I tried too hard to fit anything he did into that likeness. Sorry! My fault! I realize now that Mobley is loyal, an extremely talented scorer, and the type of guy who you want to have the ball. He has an all round offensive game: can shoot from long-range, mid-range, and can drive. Let's look at it this way: Mobley has the shot of Allen Houston, and can drive like Spree... and he's got more heart and less crap than either one of them. And we've got him for 6 years. No worries about him leaving us for greener pastures, or demanding a trade. He's with us because he wants to play for the Rockets and Rudy T. Suddenly, that's beginning to make me feel very happy. I'm looking forward to watching Francis and Mobley, our own Twin Speedsters (who needs David and Timmy?), winning many games for many years to come. ------------------ Why is it that everytime BC defeats a major conference opponent, that opponent promptly goes on a losing streak? This is sort of off-topic, but I was thinking... Mo T is far from perfect, but aside from TheCat, doesn't get too many props from us a lot of the time, or at least puts up with a whole lot of s#!^. Of course, much of the criticism of Mo T is very valid. However, I think we've all noticed by now how much attention the BBS gets by the other media and the team. If we really want to keep him next year (to the Webber welcoming party: don't put all your eggs in one basket) it would be good to show him some support before the season ends. Maybe he won't be as hung up on money if he really feels that the fans too want him to and believe he can succeed, like the team does.
