Yee-freaking-haw! My governor may yet still be a Jewish cowboy.
    Lock it up if posted.

If he runs again, I will vote for him again. I don't care who the other candidates are.

Do not want. Should be an interesting election. You've got Kay Bailey wanting a showdown with Perry, one in which he already loosed the first salvo by criticizing her over the Stimulus Package while not even mentioning that Cornyn skipped a vote.

If Friedman runs again, the next thread will be entitled "Refman to Vote for Friedman Again."

At least they all seem to be realizing that running as an independent is not a good idea. Kay Bailey will obliterate Perry in a GOP primary. Kinky will eliminate himself in a Dem primary. Or at least, that's my guess - he just doesn't have enough grassroots or establishment support to be anything more than a spoiler candidate.

Who cares about Kinky Friedman? The only thing I'm looking at is the GOP primary and how bloody Rick Perry and minions will get. I read somewhere that the early polls show him getting clobbered by Hutchinson but it will end up being close after he and the right-wing kooks get nasty and negative.

    Publicity hungry, inexperienced regional stereotype.

Let me edit that to say that I don't mind him continuing to run if he's able to learn and grow with each successive campaign. I just never liked the way the Yankee media gushed over him; like it was either a back-handed slap at Bush or Texans in general. He should probably be a Libertarian or something. Hey, maybe Ron Paul should run for Governor (if being a long-time Congressman in a politically homogenous district wasn't the sweetest gig on the planet).

I have no idea but if Hutchison wins the GOP primary, she will demolish anyone the Dems nominate. It will be a slam dunk election that could make it even harder for Bill White (assuming he wins the Dem primary).

I'd also like to ask who are the top GOP candidates for Hutchison's Senate seat.

The Kinkster is going to attempt to get Governor Good Hair elected again? God help us. I hope he at least has the decency to run as a Democrat.

Not only would I vote for him again, but I would get either or both of my bands to perform at a fundraiser for him again.

    Hey, Kinky's a friend. What can I say? :)

    most are rumored:

former texas comptroller john sharp (D)
former texas secretary of state roger williams (R)
Texas Railroad Commissioner Elizabeth Ames Jones (R)
insurance sales manager Scott Nichol (R)
state Sen. Florence Shapiro of Plano (R)
    Lt. Gov. David Dewhurs (R)
    Attorney General Greg Abbott (R)
Railroad Commission Chairman Michael Willliams (R)
U.S. Rep. Kay Granger of Fort Worth (R)

i'd say white is a long shot, and sadly kinky is too... but outside of something unforseen, he still gets my vote.

If this guy gets the seat, it will be a sad day in Texas.

I worked for the comptroller's audit office when he was comptroller, and the guy is completely spineless.
