Ex-NBA player Kirk Snyder ordered back to jail (AP) – 1 hour ago LEBANON, Ohio — Southwest Ohio authorities say former NBA player Kirk Snyder has been transferred to a mental health facility after being ordered back to jail for allegedly removing an electronic monitor. Snyder pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity in April to felonious assault and aggravated burglary charges stemming from a home break-in. The 26-year-old was wearing the device while awaiting trial. Warren County authorities say Snyder is accused of cutting off the device Nov. 23 and was arrested. Authorities would not say why he was transferred Wednesday to the facility. A message left for Snyder's attorney wasn't immediately returned. Snyder was the 16th player taken in the 2004 NBA draft. He played for four teams — the Jazz, Hornets, Rockets and Timberwolves — from 2004 through 2008. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5iWqUMmxdxO--CBBeUbW4KuMlbLmwD9CBVTQG0
That's some sad news. You have to wonder if he was showing signs of being this ill in college but was just coddled along to get the wins for U. Nevada, Reno. Not to pick on them, as all DI teams are obsessed with wins more than the people who go through their program. And who knows when his illness started.
I don't know, but I seriously feel sorry for the guy. Someone somewhere let him down instead of getting him help. I wonder if was getting help when he was with the Rockets. If not I wonder at how well the Rockets have been keeping things under wraps.
Snyder had mental health issues AND was the 16th pick in the 2004 NBA draft? Learned two things today..
back in the days when as long as you could put the ball in the basket it made you a top pick. Look a C-Bud. he was a great prep player and just because some people said he wasn't a leader he fell to the second round.
I know. I think that it's totally unfair, and I feel that just maybe, Buddinger might be an all-star in the future. I really hope that everything pans out for Snyder, I would be really sad to see him wind up in an Eddie Griffin type situation....
damn i was about to post this...I feel bad for the guy, you never wish this BS on anybody...hopefully he makes a healthy recovery <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/1omsE8i-Sss&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/1omsE8i-Sss&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/I9TA4-0JRaM&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/I9TA4-0JRaM&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
