Gotta love talk radio. I don't think she's necessarily racist, but she IS a complete fraud. Her Ph.D. is in physiology, not psychology as the name of her show implies.

Here's the actual call. Judge for yourself:

That wasn't that bad, I obviously don't agree with her.

Never heard of this lady, is she a conservative. I'm so sick of people claiming blacks voted for Obama because he's black, as if blacks don't always vote democrat.

she's not political. She offers advice in relationships.

I would say that she is conservative from a relationship standpoint though, e.g. isnt a fan of premarital sex. I've heard her a few times and she offers basic and some sound advice. I love it when she goes off on some of the callers and basically calls them a slut (and they are)

Racist probably not....Racially insensitive definitely yes.

Obviously she just wanted to let out all the racial thoughts she kept in b/c she didnt counsel this woman much on what she was ACTUALLY calling in about.

There's some pent up racial aggression across the board in whites and blacks I truly believe needs to be conversed about openly but both sides must be open minded. I just dont believe most of both sides want to be openminded about talking about race. They just want to prove their point and jump on somebody else.

I'm a fan of Dr. Laura and listen to her every day - she does give conservative advice and feels strongly about personal responsibility and ethics.

I heard this call, and while I was surprised she said that (more from a FCC standpoint than anything else), I thought that the use of the word was appropriate to make her point.

Her behavior was disgusting, and she dares to lecture other people on personal behavior.

At the very least, she should be suspended over this. Awful, just awful.

I guess it all depends on the context of the word.

    "What's up my *****."

    is a lot different from.

    "Hey nig***."

I use it all the time, but not towards others in a detrimental sort of way.

I think her point was that no one should ever use that word - regardless of if they're white, black or purple. And that by the comedians she referenced using it in jest, it desensetizes people and makes light of the offensive nature of it.

strange way to get that point across.

let's face it - conservative talk show hosts usually aren't bastions of satire.

basso, since you have such an infatuation with the gay community, do you have a problem with gays calling themselves derogatory terms in friendly fashion, terms that you wouldn't dare call them?

She's got to be smarter than that when on the radio, its easy for that word to be taken out of context. I didn't like how she repeated it after the initial time she said it, I thought she crossed that line of respect to the person she was talking to about it.

the thing that's more offensive was telling someone what they should or shouldn't be offended by. she just went off into the whole, "grow thicker skin" rant, she doesn't know if her in laws are really racist.
