I'm probably going to head out to Pittsburgh in a few weeks with some college friends to watch the Titans-Steelers game. I'm assuming we'll all get there the Saturday night before and was wondering if anyone knows anything fun or worthwhile to do in the city. I'm looking for something that resembles a night life. I can't say I'm real optimistic, b/c I've spent some time there for work in the past and the city seemed VERY old to me. Any suggestions?
ESPN recently rated PNC Park the best baseball stadium in the big leagues: http://msn.espn.go.com/page2/s/ballparks/pncpark.html
I don't doubt it for a second. Yes! There is something to do in Pittsburgh. GO TO THE BASEBALL GAME! In fact, that whole area around the baseball park and directly over the bridge around Point State Park is pretty cool. Another thing is to go up the Inclines that take you to the top of Mount Washington. The view of the city is incredible! I think the inclines have been in operation since the late 1800's. Also, try to eat at a place call Primantis. They have a couple different locations in Pittsburgh. It's kind of the "Pat's King of Steaks" of Pittsburgh. ...and...that's all I got.
I go to school about an hour north of Pittsburgh and a place these people talk about is Shady Side. I don't know where it is exactly but there are nice shops, restaurants there.
