Not to toot my horn, but I always thought Olowakandi was overrated, even before he was drafted. The Hakeem comparisons were absurd, or so I thought. He looks good now. Pretty athletic, if not stilll pretty stiff.

How come evryone have their career highs against the Rockets? The way he was doing Cato, he might just get that contract he has been looking for.

isn't kandi only averaging like 8 or 9 points this year? i'm pretty sure last night he was just on fire, really of no fault to cato. i'd prefer to have kelvin because he seems to have developed some nice timing with our guards. although kandi is a better post up presence he still isn't enough of one to make me want him more.

Kandi has REALLY improved his game. it's only natural for a big man to take time to develop.

I do wonder how he'd do without Brand though.

Yes! Kandi can catch, run, move, drop step, hit the short j, throw the outlet, and more. He can box out (!) and rebound. hecan set a decent pick. It is contract year, but he is clearly more skilled and has more upside than Kelvin. If the $$ are the same, I'd much rather have him run with Steve and Cuttino.

Even better, I'd like both Kandi & Cato, and forget about walt, willis, collier, langhi. Kandi is a restricted FA this offseason, though. Don't need another mjax deal, but let his agent know we're interested and get the right to offer more than the Clips if he takes the one-year deal.

I wouldn't have said this last year, but I would not trade Cato right now. He fits this team perfectly. He's there off drives and penetration and he is a defensive presence inside. Eventually I hope the Rox pair Griff and Cato as a frontcourt tandem. This team has good defensive potential, because Torres is strong and quick, he just has to learn the basics. Cato will only get better and Griffin is just starting to see how good he can be. Hopefully we can get a stronger backcourt in the offseason; guards that can come off the bench and add a defensive spark.

Because we have the worst defense in the league
    1. Opp. FG% 28 in league
    2. Opp Turnovers 29
      And to top it off
    3. Opp Offensive Reb 19
      [/list=1]
We're #1 in the league in opponents FT made and 3-ptrs made. As anyone who has seen a game knows, that because teams just drive or post up and score and score and rebound and score:( :(

We have shown some signs of improvement lately, but not near enough.

I believe that we should sign and trade for Kandi for Cato after the season and draft a young center. This would work because the Clippers still need a center for their young team. Plus this will give steve and cuttino a good big man running mate.

I wouldn't trade Kelvin Cato for Olowakandi. Why?

Olowakandi is going to be a free agent and we will have to sign him to a good contract. From the Sporting News Article, it sounds like he will probably demand a lot of money - more than Cato is making right now. Next year, I can see Cato putting up the numbers that Olowokandi is right now. So Cato would be the cheaper choice.
