Anyone thought about a gambling trade for Raul Lopez with Utah?

People now-days are talking about moving Steve to SG, and get another decent PG. Since I live in Utah, one guy comes in mind for me --- Raul Lopez.

This kid from Spain and now in Utah was out of the season before the season started because of his knee injury. He belongs to the same age group of Tony Parker. When they were both playing in Europe, he took Parker to school whenever they met. I read alot of reports on Lopez, boy he is a Steve Nash clone --- not strong, but extremely quick and creative, and he can participate in the three-point contest of the all-star game if he wants to, and has a chance to win!!!(In a shoot-around before a Jazz game I attended, I counted him shooting threes. He nailed 31 of 35:eek:

His knee injury has raised some serious concern in the Jazz organization that whether he can truly be the successor of John Stockton. People don't think he's reliable in the long term. Therefore, the Jazz is going to pursue Andre Miller in the Summer, and in all likelihood, they are gonna get him. That's almost a done-deal.

Hey, from what I saw from Raul Lopez, he's very talented and I like him alot. If he will be buried behind Andre Miller for the next four years, why not make a trade and bring him to the Rockets? Yes, he's got injury history, but I think his talent is worth the gamble (especially after watching Tony Parker and knowing the history between the two). If he is as good as hyped, having his playing with the tag team of Steve and Cat:eek:   ... we will own Spurs.

If he's Nash clone, why do Utah want to trade him? They need someone to replace Stockton you know.

Lopez is 6'0" and 160#'s.

The rap on him is turnover prone and plays no D. I say "No thanks"...the Rox already are 11th in the league in TO's. If the Rox pickup anybody, they better play some D.

Plus unless other players are involved, the only contracts which match are Hawkins or Terence Morris...I'd rather keep them.

John Stockton is a future Hall-of-Famer, and Andre Miller is not even an all-star.

I don't know why but he sounds like the kid that the kings picked a few years ago, but got into a car accident, and after he returned he wasn't any good. Must be the size.
    What was his name?

Man, would you please, please, PLEASE let your brain run a little before you write a reply like this??? Did I say Andre Miller will be as good as Stockton? I said he's succeed Stockton. Yeah, you try to find another Stockton, and then call the Jazz. They'll be happily accounce you as the new GM.

Geeze, the world is brutal, filled with people who don't use their brain.

Can't the Jazz find anything better than Andre Miller? He's horrible. I mean, he is not even an all-star...:D

On a side note, I do think that Lopez has a chance to be a good player in this league. He was the best player on the Spanish national team in Euro games in 2001, when Pau Gasol was only his side kick.

I don't think so. Not everyone in the league wants to play for the Jazz for two reasons. 1)the negative sterotype utah has in many athletes(especially black athletes)'s mind 2)Jerry Sloan's coaching style supresses ego's and bad work ethic. However, if you are one of those who play with fundamentalsl, defense and teamwork, Utah is actually one of the best place to be in(think about Matt Harpring).

They are getting Andre Miller, because he played for the University of Utah and took them to the NCAA championship game. He's a local hero in Salt Lake City. In fact, he's not that bad. He led the league in assists just last year. He's not doing too good because... well, look at his team, and tell me who IS doing good there. The Clippers is HELL. Things would change if he goes to Utah.

Everything I have seen Of Raul has been -- wait wait, don't tell me. I have never seen the fellow play.

If he can play he won't be traded. Dre or no Dre. If not, who wants him?

You know, Wang Zhi Zhi schooled Yao Ming while they were in China.

The last thing this team needs is rookies. No more rookies.

I remember this kid Raul Lopez was thought to have big-time potential and Utah supposedly was making a great move to draft him. However, I believe his knee got badly injured and I haven't heard of him since. Prior to the injury there was definitely good talk about the kid.

He has injured his knee TWICE.If he wasn't injured and turned out to be as good as Parker the Jazz might not be looking at Miller but I wouldn't go near him at all.
