Yes, I have been and still play Starcraft online occasionally.

So anyone else here still play online too? If so, list your screenname so we can duel it out -CF style!

Hey you'll be suprised by how many are still playing it.

Its still very challenging against the good ones and in the right map.

A lot of people still play Starcraft.

Blizzard is going to be banking even more when Starcraft 2 comes out.

In America or Korea? I know in Korea they have professional leagues and stuff, but is it still that popular in the US?

It is absolutely huge in Korea. HUGE. They even had a freaking TV channel which broadcasted Starcraft matches 24/7.

Yeah. Still very active. But only custom user-made maps are being played a lot. Ladder and tourneys are inactive.

The SC1 B.net ladder is no longer being played, people who are still "serious" about the game are playing on ICCup or something.

With that said, with my friend getting lucky getting into SC2 beta, I have been able to mooch off him and getting some quality time in with SC2 as well

This baffles me. Koreans are time travelers and can see up to 15 hours in the future. Yet, they still are primitive in their ways with the usage of Starcraft to pass the time. Puzzling.

U just dont understand man! Perfect drone split, muta stacking, hold position lurkers, perfect dark swarms, occasional broodling templar, PLAGUUU, even 5 hatch hydra is so exciting. Damn those koreans do some sick stuff with that old game.

And the funny thing is you won't see any of those things in the SC2 beta.

    At least not right now.

Well maybe you do see the hydras.

For ladder matches you have to play on Iccup server

Is that a private channel or server or something?

Sorry, I'm not THAT serious of a player, even though I am pretty good (or atleast I like to think so right now ;))
Right now I'm just playing some BGH/fastest maps for fun.

Yes, it's a public server without any latency. So it's like playing on LAN. I'm not sure you will enjoy it though since you are a bgh/fastest (aka noob maps) player. Just go to youtube.com/jon747 and your mind will be blown.

All these new games have nothing on the quality of gameplay starcraft has. Even War3 died because SC was still so much better. Some say if SC2 doesn't live up to the hype, we could see sc1 for another 10 years.
