Anyone actually seen him playing? Marcus Williams that is playing for the Memphis SL squad. I saw his stat line of 17 assist and 1 turnover in 29 minutes. And to sweeten the stat line, his a 6'3 guard. All this make it a very intriguing player. http://www.nba.com/summerleague2009/games/boxscore.jsp?gameId=1520900011
He was already given up by two teams, Nets and Warriors. Was very disinterested in his time in the NBA.
No wonder his name sounds familiar. Talk about a drastic fall, to go from Rookie All star team to the SL league.
Was suppose to be the Nets future PG until he got injured and the Nets got Harris. They traded him to GS where Don Nelson wasted away the teams truest point guard on the bench. The talent has always been there.
He was good enough to be on my fantasy team at the start of the previous season. Then he got injured and traded to Golden State...
I used to really really like this kid...and I thought the Nets drafted a steal when they got him in the 2006 draft...but now in hindsight: We all agree he's got the talent and potential...but this kid is known to have a bad attitude and has no desire to play hard and get better... he couldn't get BACKUP minutes on a lottery Nets team. Sure its reasonable he was good enough to start...but he couldn't even get backup minutes on that team hoping to groom young guys sacrificing wins and dumping veterans. when he got to GS he couldn't beat CJ Watson for minutes...he was so bad they basically just told him to stay home... I don't think it was Nelson's fault this guy wasn't used...nelson loves guards like him... that said that 17 assist game is super impressive though... to bad summerleague dominance does nothing when it comes to the NBA. all talent...no heart...thats how NBA talent are wasted...sadly
OMG! guard getting that many assists is crazy!! unheard of man! Morey, git'er done! a freakin' 6'3 guard! amazin...
he's a NBDL player, he has the potential to play in the league but won't because he just doesn't have it in him. too bad. size and potential goes to waste.
The one thing I'll give him regarding his playing time in GS is that he played for Nelly. Nuff said. I'd give him a shot.
The dude got in a lot of trouble in college (Uconn) for stealing the schools laptops. He's a theif too, so maybe his steals stat line needs to be read.
he did a good job with the nets... then when he went to the warriors he vanished......... here's a clip with the nets....... <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/sAaS8lX-aJs&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/sAaS8lX-aJs&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
I remember when this guy was drafted to the Nets, he was hyped up to be the next Jason Kidd. They said the only thing he needed to work on was his shooting. He looks like a really good pass first point guard.. I can't see why he hasn't had success in the NBA.. must be his attitude.
Oh yeah, that box score reminds me. Shaun Livingston also was pretty hyped up too.. sucks that he got injured. 6'7 PG we could use him
I remember so many mock drafts had us taking him at 8 the year we traded Gay for Battier. I was just like, "GOD pleeeeease NOOOOO!!!"
You don't remember him from that nasty Uconn team from a few years ago? That was the same team with Rudy Gay and Josh Boone on it. They got knocked out of the tourney by George Mason. I remember him having some sick handles and passing ability - the type where you know he saw plays develop a couple of steps ahead of time.
