I found this in an article on Rockets.com...

“It’s going to be tough,” Francis said. “I know I have to try to shake him (Eddie Griffin) around a bit, because I can’t go to the bucket on him. It’s going to be hard, because he blocks a lot of shots, so we’ll see. It’s a great matchup. It shows that our younger fans believe in us, because the players that are here are going to be here for years to come. It’ll be good if one of us wins it all – just to keep it with the younger guys for our younger fans.”

What is Francis talking about here?

What does he mean that he has to try to shake him (Griffin) around a bit.

I think he is reffering to the "Best Rocket of All Time" on the Rockets website.

Here's a link to the article from which that quote came from:
    ROCKETS: Bull Rushing Rockets Tourney

It's an interesting article. It's about the Road to Rocketsville contest. Here's another interesting quote I found in it.

Added Griffin: “It felt good to take down the coach. It’s nice to see how highly the fans think of me. It’s important to see the fans standing behind me so strongly. It gives me a good feeling about being here."

I'm glad to see he is appreciating the fan support. Keep those EDDIE, EDDIE! chants going in the game. :)

Good thing Eddie doesn't see how it (him beating Rudy in the voting) also shows how quickly the fans turn on you.

I think players (especially ones still playing) will always be more popular then coaches.

So is it impossible to vote for one person over another without actually "turning" on the one you didn't vote for? Because, if so, I have "turned" on a hell of a lot of BBS posters in Pued's tournament. How silly of me.

I am surprised no one has made a joke yet about the way Griffin worded his sentece. "It felt good to take down the coach." I guess I will make the first joke. Boy, and I thought that Cato was going to be the first person that Griffin punched out. ;)

Alright, so it wasn't a great joke. Screw you all.

Why would anyone think Francis would leave?

    Oh, these:

    - Cat can be traded with him anywhere due to his relatively small contract.
    - Rudy won't be here long
    - Attendance sucks

But seriously, the good outweighs the bad. Cat and Francis both love Houston, Rudy will remain in the front office when his contract is up, and the new arena will boost attendance.

Oh, we also have Griffin now, so we're contender quality.

seems to me you're jumping to conclusions about Rudy's tenure here. I'm betting he'll be our coach for some time to come.
