i need a book for govt2, it can be about foriegn affairs, congress, us gov't, pretty much alot. only thing is it has to be 250 pages, dont want it to be too long, any recommendations?
Nixonland by Rick Perlstein is very, very good, but unfortunately it's about 750 pages. That's the thing about certain books like this one, if I can get in to them, I can read them in about 5-6 days. If not, well, I might not ever finish them.
Two Nations Under God: Why You Should Care about Israel by Tom Doyle clicking on the picture doesnt work btw.
Decision in Philadelphia. It's a very well-written, readable history book on the Constitutional Convention. It's a fascinating look into the bargaining and compromise that made our republic possible. One of the best books on the founders that you'll read.

What We Say Goes: Conversations on U.S. Power in a Changing World by Noam Chomsky. It is only 240 pages though. If you haven't read Chomsky, you should really give it a try even if it's not for this class. http://www.amazon.com/What-We-Say-G...bbs_10?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1234274164&sr=8-10
Scratch my other recommendation (although it's really good and worth a read). Profiles in Courage by then Senator John F. Kennedy. Absolutely incredible book about seven heroes that we've elected to the Senate.
History or current events? Huey Long by T. Harry Williams Imperial Life in the Emerald City: Inside Iraq's Green Zone by Rajiv Chandrasekaran Oh, and don't pay attention to the number of pages. Pick a book that interests you... if you choose a boring 200 page book it will be tougher to get through than a 500 page good book.
