anyone notice this optical illusion...explanation needed

    When a golfer is shown from behind on TV, he drives the ball, and it appears to shoot off to right almost every time. Yet, the flag appears directly lined up to the golfer on screen. The ball actually goes straight at the flag most of the time despite appearing to shoot way off to the right. Can anybody explain why I'm seeing that! It freaks me out. It's not normal.

    C'mon PSJ, it's really quite simple. It's all due to the fact that golfers on the PGA tour play soooo good, while the rest of us (myself definitely included) play soooo lousy!

    I don't know why but it's probably the same reason that a field goal NEVER look's good on TV.

    Or you throw a ball from right field to home plate and it has that curve to it before it gets to the bag?

    This isn't about the hook or slice people. We all know they can hook and slice these little golf balls. The flight of the ball off the tee appears to take a right angle off the screen. An angle so ridiculous it couldn't be pulled back. Watch them today if you get the chance. I think you will see what I'm talking about. It's an illusion in my opinion. I'm not crazy!

    My season ticks at Foxboro are in the 1st row of 116 so almost every field goal on the south end looks good yet a kick 20 yards from me in the north end always looks bad.
