Well this Friday i'm leaving to Paris for about 10 days and then i'm going to Madrid and Barcelona for a week for some much needed R&R. I'm going with three friends and though we have a number of friends in Spain (as well as the ability to speak the language) we're not that accustomed to Paris.

I'd rather not do the touristy stuff as i've been there and done that, but rather want to hit great local restaurants and mingle with hot french women at great bars and clubs.

I'm not really sure how the scene works over there and whats the best way to find and get in to the 'IT' places. Whether its greasing people, just looking good, or having a few ladies as entourage, i'd like to have some insight beforehand.

Any thoughts or comments would be great....

Not much advice to give. I haven't been since 1993.

I do recall a place in downtown Paris very similar to Leicester Square in London.

A lot of clubbing places there. All were expensive as hell. As in a $50-100 cover charge just to get in the place.

I was there for a week. We did the eiffel tower, and we spent a lot of nights at local pubs meeting the people there.

If I went back, I'd go to Austria, Checheslovakia, and Eos, Greece. I've been told the nightlife in these countries is much better, a lot cheaper, and you can get there pretty quickly from Paris.

You will not get in anywhere cool unless you somehow acquire a combination of very cool, rich parisian friends and very beautiful women as your escorts for the evening, for which you must expect to drop a large sum of money for what seems somewhat disappointing returns. Good luck.

There are two clubs I remember, but that was like 15 years ago. They were called Les Bains and Scala, with Les Bains being far more upscale. I think Les Bains still exists, not sure about the other one.

If you want to see hot women, you will most probably find them in the hotel bar of the Hotel Costes (which is also a nice hotel to stay at if money is not an issue...).

You might also want to go to the Buddha bar. Good (overpriced) Asian food, nice bar and club area.

If you just want to mingle, just walk around the Quartier Latin. There is a somewhat trendy hotel there called Buci Latin (if I remember correctly) which is not just as overpriced as Hotel Costes.

With regards to Barcelona, my no. 1 recommendation would be the Danzatoria, but not the one near the harbor, but the one at Tibidabo.

I can give you tons more recommendations for Barcelona if you are interested.

In Madrid, I remember kind of a cool club close to Plaza Mayor (I think...or was it Plaza Espana? Something else? I always get all the plazas mixed up) which was like an old palace or something. I forgot its name. There are also a lot of Latin American smaller bars and clubs in that area.

Thanks Jackie! For Paris I have some friends that were there for a month last summer that have a few ideas for me. But i may have to check on some of those.

I'm pretty well settled for Spain as I have friends that live there and they're pretty good about that kind of stuff. We're stying in the Salemanca District of Madrid which is a nicer area and its close to alot of the nice restaurants and places to see. I'm not sure where what part of Barcelona we are in but its not that big so i'm not worried.

Sometimes i've seen in Europe and in places like Miami, you don't want to pay super top dollar for some allegedly top place, because it ends up being a bunch of old losers with wads of cash and money hungry bimbos. I can see that at the Men's club. I'd prefer a real place with young locals and tourists just having fun.

Whenever i'm in Paris I stay at the La Quinta on Rue de Rivoli ~ wonderful bar, world-class amenities, and the most beautiful women in all of France.

Alright, I was in Paris partying last June. On Fridays and Saturdays Johny Depp/Malkovic/Penn's restaurant ManRay becomes a happening club.

Damn, I just spent 5 minutes looking for this Paris Night Life and Restaurant super hip magazine i had that was in french and english, but I think I left it at my parents house.

Anyhow, there are a hand full of clubs off of the Champs Elyses, but Paris is freakin huge and the subway closes early, so you need a taxi.

Um, the Aviation Club de France is cool and FREE to get into if dressed at least nicely, go with a suit for no problems, it's a casino with a lounge atmosphere on the Champs Elyses about 5 minute walk from the Arc de Triomphe. Big Plus is it has nice and Free bathrooms, something totally underrated...you need to pee as much as possible at your hotel and restaurants cause finding a free place to pee ain't easy.

Right next door to the Aviation Club across the small street is a Latino Night Club for tourist. It's ver very cheap relative to Paris standards like 10 Euros and blasts hip hop for a few hours until 1 or 2 am for all the tourists to bump and grind and then switches to salsa. That place is cool, big...i forgot the name though.

Paris also has The Hustler Club for adults. I don't know what it is, maybe some sort of strip club. The bartender at a dance club was telling me about it that there's dancing too.
